Do you want to know the point of this button?
OK, I'll let you in on a secret. Set it so that the clock is dimmed when the headlights are on, that way you will know if you have inadvertently left your headlights on from the night before.
There is no other way of telling that the headlights are on during the day. At least on an MY00, don't know if the new age ones are any different.

New age ones light up the road, classics don't
Anyway bright switch is not as useless as the tiny 'sunshade' that folds down above the mirror on MY02 WRX, absolute waste of plastic :thumb down:

In actual fact, bright being synonomus with intelligent. The switch is always on. Once the car reaches about 15years old, someone notices it, switches it and the intelligent owner sells it to a burberry wearer distinctly lacking in brightness.
