Okay little update:

The palmer sport day is just too expensive it worked out at £660 for the day.

I have a rung around and managed to get a similar sort of day for alot less with an extra 10% off.

We have a choice of 3 different days:

"Ulitimate super cars" :

Ferrari, Porsche, Lotus, Subaru, Karts, 4x4 how much fun can one person have in a day? This is our most popular driving experience, great value for money with one of the best selection of quality Super cars in one place at the same time. Not only do you get to drive a Ferrari, but another 3 Super Cars as well. All the cars we dreamt of having as kids!
This experience takes place at the world famous 'Bruntingthorpe' proving ground and test circuit for several race teams & TV driving programs. The benefits of driving at these locations compared to other well-known circuits, is the sheer space and width of the circuit. This means that you can drive faster with more safety. Our Professional instructors will guide you how through your experience.

· Welcome refreshments & registration on arrival

· Safety & Technique Briefing

· Lotus Elise “Voted best handling car in the World”

· Subaru Impreza WRX Turbo “Rally bred 4WD”

· karting on our 500m purpose built racetrack(Leicester only)

· Porsche 911 (996) “A True Drivers dream”.

· Ferrari (F355 or 360) “The Ultimate Super-Car”

· Presentation and Certificate, Inc. Score

· Driver of the day Trophy / prize giving

· FREE 4x4 Passenger ride for Spectators Steep inclines, water- splashes, axel twisters, giant seesaw, pits and side-slides are all encountered en route. So Instead of standing around climb aboard for a ride not to be forgotten, there is the opportunity for you & your family to be chauffeured around our challenging Leicester course (subject to availability Leicester & Stafford only).

more info here: Drivers Dream Days UK - The Ultimate Super Car Experience

This works out at £215

The next option is "Best of the Best"

The Ferrari 360 is quite simply the world’s most famous supercar and is the benchmark that all other supercars are measured against. It's looks a million dollars and has awesome performance.

The Porsche 911 is the iconic supercar that combines speed with incredible handling, and is widely regarded as the ultimate drivers car.

This is what Autocar Magazine said about the Gallardo in August 2006 "The Lamborghini Gallardo is almost certainly the best supercar in the world right now". What more can we say.

The Aston Martin V8 Vantage is arguably the best Aston ever! Autocar magazine said of it, "The best Aston on sale, a hugely desirable car".

Itinerary :

Briefing on the circuit and driving techniques
Familiarisation laps with instructor in a performance vehicle
Drive a Ferrari 360 Spider
Drive a Porsche 911 Carrera
Drive a Lamborghini Gallardo
Drive Aston Martin V8 Vantage/DB9
De-briefing session, presentation of certificate and driver analysis form/score
A free 4x4 Off-Road passenger ride for spectators

more info here: Drivers Dream Days UK - Best of the Best

This works out at: £315

The last option is "Super Car Elite":

You will get the opportunity to put all these cars through their paces around our 2 mile circuit. With potential speeds of near 200mph, you won’t believe just how different each car is to drive. The unbelievable grip of the Subaru, the twitchy stile of the Lotus, the prowess of the Porsche, the charisma of the Italian stallion Ferrari, the Finesse of the Lamborghini Gallardo and the sheer grunt of the limited edition TVR. Mixed in with this is a spot of lunch, a bit of fun Go Karting on our purpose built Kart track, not to forget your opportunity to be a passenger around our challenging off road course in a 4x4.

Then wait with anticipation as we add up the scores to present everyone with their own certificate and pick a winner for the prize of driver of the day trophy.

Welcome refreshment & registration on arrival
Safety & Technique Briefing
Lotus Elise “Voted best handling car in the World”
Subaru Impreza WRX Turbo “ Rally bred 4WD”
Karting on our 500m purpose built racetrack
Porsche 911 (996) “A True Drivers dream”
Light Lunch voucher
TVR “ Wolf in Wolfs clothing”
Ferrari 355 or 360 “The Ultimate Super-Car”
Lamborghini Gallardo “500 hp V10”
Presentation of individual Certificate, Inc. assessment Score
Driver of the day Trophy / prize
FREE 4x4 Passenger ride for Spectators Steep inclines, water- splashes, axel twisters, giant seesaw, pits and side-slides are all encountered en route. So Instead of standing around climb aboard for a ride not to be forgotten, there is the opportunity for you & your family to be chauffeured around our challenging Leicester course (subject to availability)

more info here: Drivers Dream Days UK - Super Car Elite

The price of this is £341

Please let me know if you are still interested and if so which day your all interested??

Danny,

For me simply on price i would go for Ulitimate super cars"

When they say 'drive' exactly how much drving does that mean and will they let you give the beans or are they always telling you to slow down?

Id quite happily pay for the best of the best or the super car elite

May as well have a go at everything and ive always wanted a crack at a gallardo, suppose advantage of this too would be if more cars are floating around will the waiting time for everyone be lower than say 20 people waiting to drive three cars

Personally i think the £215 pound option is a bit of a waste, dont paticularly want to pay to drive a car i own already and a few laps of an elise porsche and a ferrari doesnt seem worth the travelling, petrol and then £215

just my opinion

Cheers

Ian

Thats a good point, I dont think that Daz got to spend much time behind the wheel when he went on a ferrari driving day recently.

I'm not really interested in these driving experience days, you get hardly any time in the super cars and the instructors dont want you to drive them properly. Normally theres a rev limit, a speed limit, and a fun limit.

Thanks for finding out for us all though.

They all look good packages, But I'm inclined to lean towards the top two. In my eyes if your paying that sort of money, pay the little bit extra and go the whole hog.

We can either have the courses at Bruntingthorpe or at race track in stratford upon avon. As I've said before i've driven at bruntingthorpe a while back and the instrutcors really let you push the cars but I can't say how they will let you drive.

weighing up the pro's and con's i think it might be a better crack if we have a endurance karting event than this as the price is more in the real world and the fun i think will be so much more plus we get to race each other
just my own view
as ive been on the ferrari day and i would not go on one again

Gotta agree with VC there that would be cool go karting would be lots of fun i reckon, and My car came back from its service today and ive now found out that the car requires a full belt replacement and that my discs and pads wont last 3000 miles so the planned upgrades will have to be put forward. which means ill have to take my name from the list as i just wont have the cash

Sorry about this

I'll have to withdraw my name as well, sorry Dan.

Considering I want to do afew events this year in my 205, I can't afford to throw away £300+.

Karting sounds fun and cheap though Kev.

Danny,
Great work finding all this out. 2nd one looks the best. I think that when we all turn up in Scoobies they'll drop them off the list and put something else in. We can live in hope.

Looks like this is the usual scenario of I'll go, I'll go, then when the money is put up its "oh I'm a bit hard up this month." I know its January FFS and Christmas has just been but this is a few months off yet isn't it?

Danny when will you want the money?

Come on guys at the rate of cars disappearing we'll all be going to the Toby by June in Fords and Vauxhalls and there won't be one Orange ST or a VX220 among them. They will all be beige and so will we.
