The only engine mods mine has is a mongoose, apexi induction kit and forge front mount (which made a massive 4bhp when it was put on at standard boost) 1st time out after being rolling roaded at 246bhp (at everyones favourite "overreading" rolling road " it did a 12.7. It now has 1bar and has run a 12.4 so far. That was with 1130kg and a close ratio gearbox. Next time out on 1bar it'l be about 1080kg

I drove 90miles with a fooked clutch to get it done. As long as it saw no more than 0psi boost it didn't slip. I even managed to creep it up to 70 There's quite a few forum members who will do it for that price (£300ish)and they are as good as any garage, infact better than alot because they know the Gtir.

My clutch started to go. Off boost it was fine (ish) Got it sorted inc clutch for £500.

As for R5s etc. Without getting into a row I had an R5 for a month whilst waiting for my GTIR to arrive off the boat. Straight line it was quite quick (had a 205 1.9 before the R5) but trying to drive it like the 205 I almost put in a hedge! Just would not do the same job.

iam pretty good with cars so when they break i fix them myself hence the reason i ran a 5 turbo cos mine broke quite alot nothing major but enough to **** you right off but these wee cars can be really quick theres no doubt your pulsar is quick recording that time on the 1/4 mile strip...i didnt rate the handling either on the 5 turbo but was fun launching it off roundabouts it just catapults away.
