averaging 19/20mpg around town and mid 20's on a run.

It's threads like this that make me think I made the right choice going for a standard 54 WRX.
Never get less than 300 miles to a tank and often quite a bit more, mid 30's on a decent run.
But that's about my limit in terms of putting up with poor fuel economy - 200 miles to a tank just scares me despite the increased performance that an STi has over a WRX - but does it really have in excess of 50%+ extra performance to account for the fuel usage???
The STi PPP I drove was magnificent, but not to that extent.

well scoobboy, since you asked, my point is that although the STi I drove was great fun and a great car, it genuinely **to me** wasn't THAT much more impressive that it justified the significant extra running costs.
to others it clearly is. so fair play.
1168 - my point exactly - i don't worry about the fuel with my WRX - just - but at STi levels it would start to be in the back of my mind. doesn't mean to say i don't admire the STi when i see one though - normally as they pass me in the fast lane!
