maybe i fell lucky, or deserve it after my last scoob wanted to go bang...

Some do

But for an under 25 year old the major problem isn't theft, it's the fact a lot get crashed

As it was I got a pleasant surprise in that its cost me £830, and thats with my 60yo mother as a named driver, which bizarrely knocked well over £100 off the quote.

Of course it will get labelled as jealousy or whatever - but I enjoyed having a life away from my car - Obviously some people have different priorities.
Who are you insured with?, ive been told my car is apx the same to insure as an STI and i'm paying £910 - and i was considering adding my parents to my policy to see if that would reduce it.

well as stated before ..

i'm 23 and live on an RAF base with a f/c premium of just under £1100 on MY04STI

i've got parents down as named drivers (which they are ) yeah yeah !! This makes a change in cost big time !!

Excess is only £300 which i think isn't bad at all !!

Insurance winds me up so much, i can't understand how someone earlier who's 22 with a modded STI got insurance fully comp for £850.

I'm 24, i own my own house in a nice areas, ive got a good job, car kept in the garage, do hardly any miles in it, only used for social not for commuting, its a UK WRX with a moidified exhuast and thats it. oh and ive got 3 speeding points. Also ive got almost 6 years no claims now

The cheapest i can find insurance for is about £1400, its ridiculous, either people are fibbing about how much they pay or these quotes come out of a random number generator

I know ive got a few years on you, but have you tried Priviledge? they did me the best quote when everyone else was over a £1000.

I've tried all of them, i dont know what the problem is.

I read a post with someone who was 22 getting a quote with ecarinsurance for £1800 but they were 22 with 2yrs no claims and that was on an STI. So i tried them and they wouldn't quote me on the basis of age, car, area or cover type required, which is rubbish.

Its all a complete farce, elephant gave me the best price, i checked to see what it would be without my 3 speeding points and it went down about £350. £350!!! for a bl00dy speeding ticket!

End of ranting

It is frustrating Joe but just keep trying different companies. I didnt get another quote anywhere near the £1500 which i got on my Type R above... until i tried Keith Micheals.

I think alot of it is based on the cars that you've owned previously, insurance companies like to see that you've had some experience driving powerful cars which is understandable.

If you havent had any powerful cars before then get a Clio 172 for a couple of months or something similar and dont crash it!!! That way the insurance companies will build up confidence in you, this is especially true in the case of smaller ones.

I'll reccomend A-Plan, but make sure you talk to teh specialist vehicles department, not the normal a-plan number.
