As you know I had mine done today, here are some of the defects that were shown up by the work lights
Yes this is a nasty one, looks like someone's been at it with a brillo pad.
Matt in action with the machine polisher.
![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v283/kjdavies46/Subaru/lotus3005.jpg)
He did a section of the front clam to show the differance it makes, this was after just a few passes with the polishing machine.Look at the masking tape line near the reflection of the work light.
![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v283/kjdavies46/Subaru/lotus3007.jpg)
Some of the surface defects took quite a lot of getting out, Lotus paint is very hard and requires a lot of work.
10HRS later, yes 10 HRS shes done
![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v283/kjdavies46/Subaru/lotus3010.jpg)
![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v283/kjdavies46/Subaru/lotus3011.jpg)
![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v283/kjdavies46/Subaru/lotus3012.jpg)
The final coat was Swissoll finest, applied using your fingers
I have to say the results are staggering, the colour is deeper loads more gloss and as smooth as a babys bum
I am over the moon!!
And a big big thankyou to Yan for letting us use his workshop for this, and if your hungry Munchies down the road does a wicked cooked breakfast

I was hoping I might get involved and get some on the job training, I have recently bought some of the PB products.. It will be good to get some good advice on using them.......
I am still a little worried as my paint is chipped in places and also 5 years old, will matt be able to make a silk purse out of...... well my paint![Ponder2](images/smilies/ponder2.gif)
Really hope so..
I have directions, but is the workshop easy to find![Confused](images/smilies/confused.gif)
I will take a camera and post up picks![Thumb](images/smilies/thumb.gif)

Well another very long day for Matt, but i have learnt sooo much, and i am amazed at what Matt has achieved with my very poor paint, it is better than when i had it from new![EEK!](images/smilies/eek.gif)
My car is transformed
Rob you will be very happy mate![Thumb](images/smilies/thumb.gif)
Thanks to Yan for the facilities, and also to Kev for sorting this out, top work fellas![Notworthy](images/smilies/notworthy.gif)
Had a bit of a camera faff today, but I will get some profesional shots doen on friday and posted up on here
If any of you are pondering over gettin this done, seriously.... GO FOR IT... it is tottally worth it, even on the older cars with stone chips and every day swirls and scratches...
Cheers all, Paul

First things first I’ve got to say a big thanks to Yan for the lending of the workshop for yesterdays mission – I got the car up there for 8am and didn’t leave until 7.30pm which meant Yan didn’t either!
The main reason why I signed up for this GB was that I knew only to well the state of the paint on my car in certain places, unfortunately the previous owner managed to cause some serious damage in the 6 months of ownership prior to me getting my hands on it (don’t you just love car washes). Having said that I was still sceptical of what would be done/achieved and whether it was really worth it. I will let the following pictures do most of the talking and you can make up your own minds:
Roof before:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...s/IMG_2699.jpg
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...s/IMG_2697.jpg
Roof after:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...s/IMG_2795.jpg
Bonnet scoop before commencing:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...s/IMG_2719.jpg
Half and half:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...s/IMG_2725.jpg
Finished:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...s/IMG_2729.jpg
Near side (rear panel done door untouched):
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...s/IMG_2769.jpg
The turnaround really is impressive and the pictures don’t show exactly how bad panels were before and how good they are now. It’s also worth noting that the scratches haven’t just been covered with polish only to return – they no longer exist. i.e .genuine paint correction.
Also a big thanks to Matt for the work, I’m not sure how many other people would have been happy working approximately 12 hours straight. Top bloke who is happy to help you teach you how to prevent having to call him again!
