I'm just wondering how long that lovely cream carpet will stay cream? I've got a cream rug in my bedroom that my Staffy always sits on whilst I'm putting my make-up on in the morning, she sits there again at night whilst I take it off (dunno why, perhaps she's after some make-up tips? ) and after just three months it's looking quite grubby. The dog gets bathed regularly so it's not like she's even that mucky
Filthy creatures
Seriously Sonic looks so happy, please keep posting pics

Brendan, mascara doesn't drip. Men huh?
Anyway, I think I've worked it out, I reckon the dog is trying to put a bit of eyeshadow and lippy on whilst I'm not looking but due to it's lack of thumbs is making a bit of a mess.
Note to dog: Evolve

The carpet was only fitted 3 days before Sonic arrived. (this is one of the things along with tiling that i wanted to get done before he came so it was comfortable for him as floors had been bare in downstars area for months).
I being the trusting husband let Wifey choose and buy it. I had not even seen it till i arrived home on the night it was fitted. I had to admit i was a bit shocked at the colour knowing we had a dog coming.
Hey-ho thats life though and we would not want to constrict him to certain aeas. Bit of grubby is not too bad as he has already crapped and pi$$ed all over it anyway .
Most dogs poo in one neat pile. Sonic for some reason always poos while doing a slow crouching walk and in circle of approx 4 foot in diameter which made it worse.
As long as people want to see pics every now and again, i will put them up

Glad he's settling so well Mark, I bet he's having a whale of a time with you all, getting spoilt etc, we're so glad he has gone to such a good home and it's great hearing how you're all getting on, I feel really bad about your carpet though
Scooby has made a few messes, but only in the conservatory so has been a lot easier to clean up off tiles....

He has not tried to chew one single household thing since he has been here.
Costing a fortune in toys though. Footballs are his big love, followed by tug of war with ropes ect.
We have had to take his collar off in the house and garden now. He has become pre-occupied with either the outside light at night, or sunlight, glinting off his tag and collar.
He did not move from the french doors yesterday morning for 3 hours, chasing the reflection around. Even with the dooes open he would not go out. When we took it off he stayed there for another couple of hours last night looking for it.
Its funny, but we found that whenever he went anywhere else in the house or outside, he would walk around with his head down ignorant of everything else.

And they cant even be arsed to get up for you.....

3 months on.............And i think it's only right to update people and put some fresh pics up
And Sonic has been an absolute pleasure. I think it's fair to say he has settled in very well (as a few members on here can confirm) and he enjoys his life.
A few things have been sorted out. We feed him on Nutrochoice which is a top quality food, but when we tried Burn's (another highly recommended food) his bad a$$ returns
On the Nutrochoice he does not fart as much, and his coat is nicer. He gets occasional treat meals like lambs hearts and pasta, liver and pasta. He absolutely loves fruit, Banana (whole with the skin) is probably his favourite food full stop. Also gets lots of bones and pig's ears.
He is an expensive dog to run, the way he gets through toys, footballs, hard ruber ***** etc. is amazing.
He is very playful, and seems to tailor his play to who he is doing it with. I can wind him up and play very rough, and he will pull, growl, stare me in the eye etc. I am the only one he mouths because of this - when he wants me to know he will simply clasp his jaws on my arm and give me a friendy squeeze . With my daughter, he is very soft. He will actually want a cuddle with her, where-as with me he just wants to play.
He no longer jumps up feet first on work tops or tries to empty bins, he no longer wees or poos in the house, and he does not bother you at all if you are sat down for a meal.
With people he is fantastic, everyone who he meets falls in love with him. One member on here even slept with him!
He is in great health, as fit as a fiddle, and as strong as an ox.
The only downside is when he is outside being walked. Despite seeing some experts and us persevering with various methods, he is not great on the lead. Seems to always pull and any kind of animal he sees if you are not on your guard he can have you over. We live in an area that's infested with Squirrels and rabbits and it can be quite entertaining sometimes. When a squirrel is on the lawn and he spots it from inside you worry if he is going to smash through the window to get it
If he comes across a mouse ot frog in the garden, he will just play with it nicely and push it around, yet when a mouse ran across in front of me the other day while walking him he just jumped straight on it and gobbled it straight down . Luckily he has not managed to catch a squirrel yet
He just wants to play with cats and this is quite funny to watch, but he is very unpredictable with other dogs and i have to be very careful when and if he is off the lead. We have had one incident (when my mum took him out) that he had another dog pinned down by its throat to the floor that came running up to him and took him by suprise. Thankfully he did not try to rag it or kill it, he just held it there in a dominance kind of thing till the other dogs owner gave him a good kick and he let go.
Most dogs he wants to play with, but because of this i have to be a bit careful. It's a shame (but only a small one) because in every other way he is fantstic.
Fun, loving, caring, cheeky, protective and an absolute fruitcake , And Corinna, Sophie and i would be absolutely lost without him.
Donna and Steve, thank you one again for saving him and letting us have him
Enough of the emotional bollox, here's some pics . (ok lots of pics)

Thanks for the update Mark, he is looking really well, and has put a bit of weight on now for the better
Still has a cheeky look about him, and also looks like he enjoys his comforts too
Im surprised about him being like he is on the lead, we never had a problem with him, but then as you know, there isnt a great deal around here apart from a load of fields, and with it being winter time, its only now the hedgehogs, mice and rabbits have come out.
Donna took him up to the school a few times, and tied him up inside the school area and he was perfect, just sat there and waited for her whilst she dropped the kids off
He was great with Scooby most of the time too, apart from the odd hide the sausage moments, and a bit of odd growling (mainly from Scooby after having his doughnut infiltrated one too many times )
the first time I put them together they both went a bit mental at each other, seperated by a gate, but they really only wanted to sniff each other and weigh each other up, Scooby was worse in that instance as it is his territory
Admittedly he was/is a strong dog, but on a lead Scooby was/is far worse he constantly pulls for the first ten minutes, after that he will settle down, we have walked him round the town centre on a busy saturday and Scooby used to be ok with some people, and go mental at others, yet in the house as soft as sh*te, scared of his own shadow
He is a pain to walk at night with the shadows of the street lamps as he jumps every time I walk past a street lamp, daft mutt, soft as anything
Really glad he has settled in so well, pics are great, you must keep the thread updated too from time to time

What a brilliant outcome for all concerned
Mark, if he's getting dominant aggressive with other dogs (I'm guessing most probably males) then I'd suggest having him neutered.

Welldone mate!
That is one mutt that has landed on his feet!
We've had a cat move in with over the last few months. He turned up one day and hasn't dissappeared!
Named him Baileys!

Getting my old dog's nuts chopped off didn't stop him trying to a) dominate other dogs or b) giving lamp posts a wink!
He was a randy little sod right upto before he past away two years ago.
Save sonic the pain, leave his nads where they are.
When people get all angry we give them counceling, not castrate them!

There are loads of good reasons to do it - it won't stop him being a "boy", but should curb the aggression in the dominance.
Much healthier and less stressful for him too, also less chance of him wandering if there is a bitch in season within a 5 mile radius...
Unless you want to breed - which you shouldn't as his history is unknown.

he is not 'ard at all. Hi is a great big softie. He will growl at me - but thats about it - and only under provocation (i.e playing tug with your face right in front of his and staring into his eyes)
He whimpers, whines, looks at you hang dog with the best of them
