The size of that Intercooler surely proves that the standard TMIC is no where near up to the job for serious hard use. That looks three times the size of the STI TMIC. Look at that carbon fibre cold air feed...how much for one of them!? Come on Mike Wood tell us a part number and price!

Exactly. A WRC car will spend an entire stage on boost and under WOT. Comparing the road going TMIC is just impossible.

Interesting, that must be the '07 car, which isn't going to be used until Mexico I think. Very cool.
Compare the pics below - the top one is from Atkinsons '06 car, taken at the Prodrive charity open day last year and the bottom one is from wrxjay03 -
The intercooler hoses are completely different, I wonder what else is.

[ooops, edited to get the pics in the right order!]

With the intercooler mounted there and recieving cold air from the grill where have they hidden the radiator - lower down in FMIC position ?

the engine will only do 700 (carefull) miles before it has to be rebuilt at a cost of £20K, so not really worth buying even thouhg the whole car costs £500K, still would be nice to tootle around in once every decade or so!

the intercooler is angled to help with aerodynamics and downforce, the scoop is closed up as serves no purpose but has to remain, thats why they use the WRX scoop instead of the STi one and i think the engine costs between 50 - 70K!
cheers
