Come on, someone post some pictures of your children playing with a cute grizzly bear cub so that we may all 'coo' and 'aaaw' and forget that you are harbouring a dangerous animal within your family unit.

Of course I am. I will receive it then, if it is flawed, I will tear it to shreds.

I agree it does save time. It saves me time demonstrating that they are unimaginative and ill-equipped. '*******' is the sort of thing I'd expect from Hectic.

Of course that's not to say that the reaction isn't gratifying still, because it is.

That's better

So how does that in any way discredit my statement (that people posting cute pictures of puppies in an attempt to make us see their dangerous dogs as anything different is laughable)?

In so far as they are capable of killing people, particularly when owned by the aforementioned wannabe hard-men.

What possesses you to think that posting a picture of a puppy with a doleful expression on its face will make us forget this fact?

Does this make you hate all people ?, you want to open your eyes a bit and not just believe everything you read in the papers.

That's nice for you

Please, do contunue to keep us entertained with your demonstrations of the degree to which those other than you are unimaginative and ill-equipped

Although...spare a moment to think...that perhaps simply calling you a "**** head" is the literary equivalent of a shot to the head of a truly (as opposed to your personal fear induced) dangerous dog - something you have made it clear would be your preference. Another analogy may be that it would have been simpler for Saddam Hussain to have been found dead.

Why waste time with such an obvious outcome?

Perhaps sometimes the time for talk comes to an end, and the only way to deal with something undesirable is the quick and direct approach?

One can debate the subject of dangerous dogs for ever with you, likewise many other subjects. At the end of the day, however, you (or your personna) will still be perceived to be a "********" by many if not most of those contributing

LOL! - She thinks she's a cockerel standing on that kennel roof!

Looks in good shape - We're determined not to let ours get porky either. Puppy classes resume tomorrow - Should be interesting...

i think she was trying to show us that she's the king of the castle the little monkey she is a good dog though wouldnt hurt a fly we managed to train her ourself, we give her 3 handfulls of mixer and a tin of food everyday plus lots of treats too

my best mate was attacked by a rotti when we was in school it ripped all her mouth apart and everything was quite a mess some slight scarring now but she still comes round my house and strokes my dog even though she can be giddy but she's fine so not all dogs are savages

We have a choc brown lab, they are amazing dogs, its a shame ours is a bit porky, he was a huge puppy, then when he was 4.5 months old his hips were playing up, even though he had a good hip score.
He was too young for hip replacement so he had an operation where they cut the muscle and basically tie it arround the bone ( bit more to it than that ) and now his front end is like arnie but his rear will never be like a normal dog.
And he is spoilt, he goes to aqua doggie twice a week, indoor heated pool for dogs :-) and this seems to help him. Brilliant dogs though.

aqua doggie??? never heard of it is it any good??? kay had problems with her hips when she was younger and now if we let her run for too long she starts limping a little but i think most labs have problems with their hips

Yes, to be honest he only needed it at the beginning ( after the op) but he enjoys it so much that we carried it on.
Plus it is very good exercise for him, the harness lifts his front legs and forces him to kick with his back legs, obviously the idea is to strengthen them as much as possible.

We were a bit worried about Maddys hips - Good score but apparently overexercising them buggers them up - Trouble is, she runs around like a total nutter and doesn't seem to get tired!

You all read "Marley and Me" about a lab? Reading it now - Very good.
Maddy's oddly super obedient - Always comes to us on call, sits instantly, leaves stuff when we tell her, drops stuff, fetches stuff, lies down, does the "paw" thing etc - Think we've been lucky.

Would still eat twice her bodyweight in food given half a chance though!

Unfortunately your statement is a bit of a off the cuff remark, any medium to large sized dog has more than enough clamping force in its jaws to theorically kill some one.
Unfortunately rotties etc get a bad press due to the ned element that occasionally end up owning them, yes they are originally bred as guard dogs, but so were Boxers/GSD's/Dobermans and plenty of others, all of these are capable of inflicting serious damage to a person but unfortunately the rottie and the staffy have been given the Devil Dog tag.
Out of interest whats your stance on Poodles?

John.

John, sorry to have to correct you, but Rotties & GSD's were originally bred as herding dogs.

Can't comment on Dobermans and Boxers as I'm not as familiar with the breeds.

When we first got our lab i took him to puppy lessons, but i wanted my dog to be himself, so took him out of the lessons.
I dont like it when these dog people train there dogs so much that the dog is constantly looking at them as if to say what am i ment to be doing?
He's amazing now, call him and he comes running, he sits when i tell him, barks when he needs to do his business in the garden, all taught by me and because ( i think anyway ) we didnt train him too much, there is alot of him still there in that head.
Everyone who has met him always says he is the nicest dog they have met, such a character !

Np probs bud
I knew about the GSD being a herding dog but not the Rottie.
IIRC the boxer was originally bred as a hunting dog.
