i'm talking about PC-infestation within media and government attitude NOT about the attitudes of the wider electorate. few of my observations apply between people. nearly all of my observations apply when applied to us through the lenses of media and government. this is broadly self-evident if you live here and look at things empirically.

Get a grip of yourself, wake up and stop reading the Daily Mail. Judging by your posts you probably write for them though.
I bet you know Melanie Phillips.

Well actually no it isn't the goverment may be a little over politically correct but the the media has a balance of PC and non PC views. Clearly the issue here is the media trying hard to insinuate that the government is PC crazy when in reality rules designed to be beneficial to the majority can be easily exploited by a minority which then creates a false impression. You are claiming that the media is on the one hand PC and by that I assume you mean too PC, but at the same time not one newspaper has failed to critisize other institutions for its excessive political correctness. For starters you could clarify wether you have an issue with the basis of political correctness full stop, or is it a matter of excessive political correctness you have an issue with. I think the issue really is about your own arrogance and belief that your views are faultless and by definition every one elses wrong. Your descision to mention Islam and Palestine in your list of paradoxes and claim them as good shows in reality that your own opinion is the opposite and clearly you cannot stand the fact that now at last the media is showing Israel as a nation guilty of horrific crimes.

no need for cheap, cheerless and uncalled-for insults luan. sensible, reasoned debate must be an interesting experience in your household

however, thanks for adding further weight to my observation that some people simply cannot accomodate an alternate view without knee-jerk resort to childish [and tired] mud-slinging. good work fella!
oh and don't start a career in psychoanalysis. you won't get far ...

I would also hardly call my comments childish mud slinging I am stating the facts as I see them. Islam bad, Palestine Bad, Arabs bad is a childish basless insult.

Wether you attepted to post a list showing polarization or not what you actually posted was a list of paradoxes. Criminals good Passing the buck good etc. Inside this list you included Islam, Arabs and Palestine all, based on your list being of paradoxes, in a negative way. If you were just trying to show that there is no middle ground in the media why did all of these references have a negative conotation and not a mix of both. Its hypocritical that you have called my accusations of your arrogance as unneccesary yet you have insulted whole nations of people and religions in a sly underhand way. The fact is whatever you are like in real life you tone on here is arrogant and dismissive and you seem to view yourself as far more inteligent than all the other posters on this board. The reaction to your post tells its own story.

a) you've missed the point completely. i've insulted no-one; slyly or otherwise. merely pointed out some of the embedded, black and white PC attitudes of others - namely significant sections of our media and our government - that i find troubling because they give no thought to natural shades of grey.
b) you're oversensitive and you're over-reacting. deliberately i suspect. good job i'm not a cartoonist.
c) the only thing that's narked you is the mention of islam, palestine and arabs. well, er, tough. try reading my original post in context.
d) not childish? so i don't know melanie philips of the daily mail then after all. take the beam out of your own eye before you try and take the mote out of mine.
come on, go the whole hog and play the race card. you know you're dying to.
