Have only seen it in pictures, but i like it. Not 100% sure about the mesh on the lower grill, maybe it would look better if it was black, but other than that I think is looks great.
Go for it!

got to say i feel thats its just a cynical marketing ploy by IM/Subaru UK to sell what is an outgoing model for a premium price.
this is only countered by the fact an unknown amount of money will be paid donated to the R.B fund (which is about the only good thing coming out of the car)

Gangsta,
Wouldn't bother! IIRC You left the Subaru fold as you were tired of the image and felt that they were no longer the performance icons they once were in terms of the magnitude of the performance difference between them and the hot hatch brigade.
The RB320 is no more powerful than the WR1, has some nice performance, interior and exterior features (much like the WR1) and is no doubt a lovely example of a scooby.
BUT
It's expensive (as all these special editions are). It's still a heavy UK car, lower spec than JDMs, that'll you'll want to modify (bang goes your warranty and residuals).
AND most importantly in respect of your original reasons for leaving Subarus
The only people who will "get" the RB320 thing are those who are already well disposed towards Subarus.
To those who already think Subarus are for "chavy boy racers" this latest edition will be nothing more than "another subaru for chavy boy racers"
If you still have hang ups about Subarus image, I'd be looking at something by Audi with RS in the badge!
If you want an "ultimate Impreza" for Kudos, it has to be the Type 25!
BTW Spec C, ****e, are you sure??? I don't think the WR1 did a sub 8:00 lap of the ring!
Happy hunting!

And I agree with you on that ... unfortunately though I wouldn't be able to drive a 22b the way I wanted to and it doesn't have a warranty. One day when I'm seriousely minted I will buy one and have it to look at. Because it is the daddy!! UK one that is!

I can't believe you are even asking the question on here.
Those who are getting one will say ''do it they are great''.
Those who buy jap will say it's an old slug
Those who cant afford it or have an 05/06sti will say it's a waste of money
Those with a classic....well you know what they will say
I would say it's your money buy what you want, but be prepared to have the likes of me take the **** for no reason other than we can
You can buy my 205 if you want a REAL car, it will be up for sale soon

I do believe another official subaru dealer has a 22b for sale at 30k with 22k on the clock (autotrader). It doesn't however look like a uk version as it's advertised as an S plate, all the same I'd say you'd get a few grand off of that price with a few years' worth of warranty thrown in.

Ok had a WR1 ... was absolutely awesome. Everything about it I loved ... was sensational on track and was one of the best looking scoobs released to date IMO.
Sold it last year and after seeing the RB320 pics am now thinking about getting involved again ... especially as I've been offered one.
What do people think???
I don't want posts saying buy a spec c because, firstly, I have seen them in action/driven them and think they are ****e, secondly I want a full warranty from a UK subaru dealer/prodrive and I don't want an imported/converted motor.
Just interested to hear people's opinions about the look, extras, benefits/drawbacks of owning the last special edition before the hatchback etc etc etc. And for those that have driven one what they thought about the drive compared to a WR1 or similar specified UK edition STi.
Many thanks

I know you've said you don't want to hear 'Spec C this and that' but I'm just curious as to how you can say that a WR1 was awesome and yet the Spec C was ****e. Spec C was designed from the start to be a 'drivers' car. It is the starting for GrpN and is the better car, no doubt about it.
I can understand you point of view as regards the warraty aspect, but many dealers now offer a warranty on JDM models. Personally, I can'[t why anyone would buy a 'watered down' UK model, but that's just me. And maybe I'm being bias as I have JDM, a very special one at that too . I cancelled my order for a UK MY06 to get it, a lost my deposit in the process. Does it bother me? No. As I now own a car that no UK would stand up to

Rob,
lots being bought on the wr1oc.co.uk ,come in and have a look, were thinking of renaming to the EvoRB320WRonly1 club
Do it,do it!! worst ways you can shift it easy enough if you dont like it,
HAS ANYBODY actually driven one yet? bearing in mind have any been delivered yet as far as I know its June delivery is'nt it?

I loved black cars but that looks like a parts bin special, not worthy of the badge it carries. Looks wise it seems a poor second to the WR1.
My dealer still continues to ring me weekly to see if i'd like to buy one, so i'd guess they're not going very well.
An STI specced to the same level may be £36000 but that's if you pay list price, which no one does, so in reality the gap between the 2 cars is a fair bit less and closes up even more when you start to spec up the RB320.
It could have been a good car but the chance to raise the bar from the last special edition has been wasted.
