I am not quite the PC lefty looney I sometimes appear Of course I have views on controlling immigration etc - I am a very proud Englishman - I just really struggle with racism. No matter who it is against - Whites, blacks, Asian etc.

I agree with you, but it still happens, yet the racism towards asians etc gets more airing/reporting/comments than the racisim towards white people, don't you think?

The problem is you see, that racism was almost acceptable until quite recently. Don't get me wrong, we have come a lot way in making racism an uacceptable facet of society. But you are right, there is larger sawy of reporting of racism towards Asian/black people than white.

There are two reasons for this I feel.

(i)There are actually more racist white people than racist asian black people in the UK (simply because there are far more white people in the UK)

(ii)The media is almost over compensating for the pretty dismal portrayal of black and asian people in the 60s/70s/80s Its like they are making up for past mistakes.

Hopefully in a decade or so there will be a balance.

i come on here voicing my opinions because of my personel quest.......we all have our reasons my family has only have to go back to where they all lived and grew up and see a **** hole full of run down property even our old houses. now totally colonised by non english speaking muslims. And many more reasons which i havent got the time/inclin to go through right now.

just try and understand were not all the same and why people have different veiws theres always a reason, peace.

The answer is probably somewhere in the middle. To solve it, people need to talk. Hating is not the answer.

To give a parallel, the Northern Ireland situation went on for years with tit for tat violence, and never solved anything. It still isnt great, but its a hell of a lot better than it was - And that hatred ran as deep as anything between the west and Muslims.

I cant understand your frustrations, my ex is frustrated as you are by the amount of asian and muslim people moving in to her area of Harrow. Her biggest hate are Somalians - She cannot stand them, and she is half west indian.

I dont think at heart you are as racist as your posts sometimes make you appear.

After all - saying you would like to see a country where muslims were fully integrated is a hell of lot bettet than "ship them all home"

Why is that any less offensive than overt racism, never mind the is it/isnt it debate going on home, why is insulting someones race so much more offensive than their weight, intelligence or looks.

Why is it not possible to tell a person of another race to 'go home' without everyone assuming that you are on some Enoch Powell trip, maybe there is an element of race in there but I would say its a small percentage of the overall conflict, there is class in there as well, Jade is basically queen of the Chav's and Shilpa a slightly haughty Indian 'Princess' type, a bit of a diva. i think this is just another case of political correctness gone wrong, it is being blown out of all proportion, shilpa is being bullied yes, not because she has different coloured skin though, the fuss becomes because she has different coloured skin, and its white people doing the bullying-emediately racist.

we see this in the press all more too often, in another thread on this board it showed how the bbc reported upon a boy being dragged out of school held down and beaten. they did not mention the men doing it were aisian and the boy was white, double standards????
