Sorry to read about the terrible treatment of your eldest son Pete. I understand things like that can make your views slightly jaded. My brother was attacked by an Asian Muslim in the middle of a town centre in broad daylight. Six of them set on him after he agreed to fight one of them "round the corner". They broke his nose and jaw with a D-lock before holding him down and cutting across his chin with a stanley knife. A 60yr old man tried to intervene only to be punched in the face.
The main culprit was caught on CCTV, and my brother was threatened out of court with threats of violence towards members of my family including my son if he testified.
This man got 2 yrs and was out in 1
When released he sent a bomb threat to a local club (from his mobile the ****) because his girlfriend was in there and wanted her out. He got a year for this as well.
Now he is back inside for possesion of class A drugs.
Every so often my brother see's the other 5 blokes that attacked him. If they are in a group they chase him, often him on foot them in cars. When he has seen them individually they apologise profusely and blame the other parties.
This is not an isolated incident. Where i live and have grown up things like this happen all the time, 3 stabbings last week in the local night club commited by Asians. Knife and drug crime where i live is rife, and although i know a few white drug dealers myself, the one's that use knifes and violent crime are always Asian or black.
Although this could quite easily make you a racist person i try to keep an open mind. One of my best friends was an Asian Muslim, but unfortunatley is serving 3 years for selling cocaine.

My point was that I don't believe the colour of your skin makes you any more disposed to commit crime.
There are obviously reasons behind the disproportionate numbers of young asian and black people getting asbos - we need to find out what those are, and it certainly isnt just because of thier race, in other words, being of a particular race does not make you inherently "bad".

For what its worth, I don't think there has been any out and out racism on display in CBB, not from the clips I have heard anyway. There have been a few somewhat insensitive, and perhaps ill thought out comments on both sides. It is getting a little out of hand. There is definitely a measure of bullying going on, but I beleive it is a social divide thing, rather than a racial one that is causing it.

I think it is a degrading programme which encourages the drop in standards we have seen over the years. It depends what your tastes are of course but this is deliberately engineered to get people to live together under tension and to demonstrate the results of that. I personally don't think that is anything to be proud of as far as the TV company is concerned.
I saw some of the excerpts about the treatment of the Indian girl who seems to be a very pleasant person. The other three on the other hand are a bunch of slags and deserve all the criticism which is thrown at them.

I have no knowledge of her but I suspect she is of higher caste. The caste system most certainly one of the most racist systems' of any country. And did she not partake in a conversation with Jackson where he called Goody's mother 'white trash'?
Thought it was surprisingly insightful of Goody to ask Shipla to roam around the slums of India and see what they think of her there.
I am in no way standing up for Goody and her cabal, however, from what I have seen there has been no racism, certainly none face to face between the factions. It is nothing more than an educated woman falling out with 3 younger simpletons.
I think it amusing the all the top politicians are falling overthemselves in some anti-discrimination bandwagon jumping, yet are responsible for many killed and maimed abroad of the same colour.
In any case whatever happened to free speech?
