Langley is nice.
Nice in the same way the Gaza Strip is nice?

Langley to call langley a warzone is dangerously close to a compliment.
Horrible, horrible place.

I admit it's not the best place on this god given earth, but what really “grinds my gears” is, people who make stupid, immature and unconstructive comments which are
a) Of no real value to anyone, and b) based upon an opinion they have formed from either reading some tabloid or watching some programme on Sky.
The original poster had a question, which needed an answer of some use, slating Slough is not going to help him. I don’t think he is going to change his plans because a few people on a Subaru forum say Slough is **** Just out of interest, how many people who such posts, have actually lived in Slough
So how the hell do they know...
I'm only making a big deal because I actually have something to contribute to this thread. There are other posts out there, that really do me
but I can't voice my opinion because I don't know the facts, so I keep quiet.
But it seems that if I were to put a thread up asking about every town/ city in this country someone would have something crappy or bitchy to say.
And although we are all welcome to have an opinion, if that opinion is based on hearsay or just because you have nothing better to do but slate everything and anything. Then maybe that opinion should stay in your head on not on a forum.
Rant over

Slough has three main epicentres of Chavness which are to be avoided at all costs listed in order of dangerousness:
1.The Britwell Estate complete with crack houses etc
2.Manor Park adjacent to the above similar sort of thing
3.Chalverly (yes you read the name right) not the sort of place you want to leave the keys in your car..... if you get my drift
On the upside some of the most affluent areas in Britain are a couple of miles from Slough.
Stoke Poges is about 1 mile from The Britwell Estate however some of the most expensive houses in Britain are located here: Angelina Jolie, Tom Cruise and many other famous celebrities have houses in Stoke Poges as it has a close proximity to Pinewood film studios.
Farnham Common is also a very nice area
Burnham can be hit and miss however it in general it's nice
A little further out you have Gerrard's Cross and Beaconsfield both of which
the richest people per capita of any town
When you have Windsor and Maidenhead ect all very nice
Windsor and Maidenhead have the highest average house prices in Britain so you have to have a few quid to live there.
Mars have ceased manufacturing in Slough and are moving to India.
Slough Trading Estate is the largest office based industrial zone in Europe
As long as you stay away from the bad areas is plenty of money to be made in them there hills

Quite a few of the buildings on the trading estate are empty.

Mate, you need to learn to punctuate your sentences properly.
Slough - where to avoid.
See? Makes far more sense that way![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
SB (Used to work in the middle as well. What a ****hole...)

Don't you ever watch "TRAFFIC COPS" ? to remind you of their usual opening sequence....
"Today we are riding with Pat & Carl in pursuit of a Stolen Subaru Impreza through Slough"
say no more

Bolox!
Northern edge of Farnham Common, Ingleglen...
Taplow's nice, also try Marlow, Beaconsfield, Fulmar, Hedgerley if you like pubs, well, a pub.... <hic>
Expect not to have much loose change for a few years....

^^^ Have to admit that not all of those places are replete with a Slough postcode.
Centre of town used to be "not bad" for the odd beer as there was a mega price-war on between Wetherspoons etc. I was thrown out of Wetherspoons by a 4' tall barmaid for mixing my drinks. The 40+ degree cider and the cold lager. Apparently they frown on temperate cider mixers...
Kebab shop out to the east of the main drag isn't bad at all and do mega kebabs in naan breads ![Thumb](images/smilies/thumb.gif)
Also have to say that although Farnham Common is posh, other than the Queen Victoria (yes it's got one). It's the only place I've ever seen a completely starkers strip-a-gram complete with marshmallows.![Norty](images/smilies/norty.gif)
