I with Bateman here - I've watched someone do this for past 6 months. I wouldn't for a second, consider it a sensible diet for someone who wants to lose a few pounds, but if you are serious about weight loss and you've been told for medical reasons that you should lose the weight, then this is an option. Beyond this, you are talking about surgery and stomach stapling.
I would agree with TelBoy, that it is a sad situation we've got to, but at least Bateman has taken a very positive step to changing his habits and his life. He deserves some support for what he has chosen to do. The whole process will take between 6 and 12 months, which is hardly instant gratification.

Ah right, i didn't realise we were talking "emergency therapy" for being a fatty. Why people can't just be honest with themselves about their gluttony, and exercise some self-control before it gets to this point, i'll never know. It's not like people these days don't know the risks from being obese.

An overweight person that has good cardiovascular fitness is less risk than a skinny person that doesn't exercise.
