yep, thats it. the packs have all the minerals you need. You have 4 packs a day, if you dont take them they wont let you do the diet.

My God. We've come to that in the quest for instant gratification have we? If you ask me, it's a sad indictment of our times.

I with Bateman here - I've watched someone do this for past 6 months. I wouldn't for a second, consider it a sensible diet for someone who wants to lose a few pounds, but if you are serious about weight loss and you've been told for medical reasons that you should lose the weight, then this is an option. Beyond this, you are talking about surgery and stomach stapling.

I would agree with TelBoy, that it is a sad situation we've got to, but at least Bateman has taken a very positive step to changing his habits and his life. He deserves some support for what he has chosen to do. The whole process will take between 6 and 12 months, which is hardly instant gratification.

Ah right, i didn't realise we were talking "emergency therapy" for being a fatty. Why people can't just be honest with themselves about their gluttony, and exercise some self-control before it gets to this point, i'll never know. It's not like people these days don't know the risks from being obese.

It's not being obese (within reason) that kills you - in fact the US has taken it off the list of top killers.

An overweight person that has good cardiovascular fitness is less risk than a skinny person that doesn't exercise.

I think people that have hectic or busy lifestyles need to take stock and reflect on how they eat and exercize and I agree with what you are saying, I am thinking it could have been put a bit different. its calculated on BMI, so say you are 5ft 9 and weigh 18 stone, the bmi says you should be 12, hence you qualify.

Yep i'm familiar with BMI.

It's still less effective than saying "No really, i've already had two slices of cake, thanks anyway".
