Erm, they got the bike the other day and happily brought it back down to the beach to appear on telly.
I never said there wasnt though did I? Im just correcting you on the fact that nobody has stolen a thing apart from the stuff thats gone on ebay already.
If brains were dynamite, you wouldn't have enough to blow the kneecap off a flea so, in future, wake up the dozy peglegged hamster operating that wheel-powered brain of yours before you start typing.
Bye.

Moralists, my favourites. Sanctimonious pratts that never of course break any laws at any time.
If I was local I would be wheeling a bike off the beach too

Pension theft? Unfair and downright criminal bank charges? No problems, let's just attack and demonify some people (in the main I suspect law abiding normal citizens) who like a freebie. In the big scheme of things this really is small fry. A fair deal of the stuff would have been written off anyway.
What should be of real concern is why the ship got stranded in the first place and the possible contamination from it.

Oh I see, so you have come on here to sing the praises of the motorbike thieves, witter on about dynamite and then chip off before we get you to explain how your one example of someone forced to fill in the forms mitigates the rest of the 'chavengers' breaking open containers, littering the beach with unwanted goods and stealing the rest?
Yes, 'bye' indeed.

FFS its not rocket science. There are things floating about all over the beach and in the sea. People are picking them up and taking them home. They are therefore taking away things that are littering the beach. The beach is therefore tidier!
If people are smashing open the containers and throwing things out of them and not taking them away, then thats different.

Cant resist keep coming back can you. You are about as entertaining as a child's inflatable punching toy. You bop it, it springs back, you bop it again and you forget it ever existed. It slowly deflates in an unused corner, then one day you throw it away.
In future, if you have something to say, just shut up.

I would suggest, since you have nothing further to add to your argument (namely that chavs should be allowed to take that which does not belong to them), then you should do one.

Saying bye does not announce I am leaving.... Your the one who ran out of debating skills having to say hello again and bye again!
Its not an arguement btw, its a fact. Thats what salvage rights are all about, if your too thick to see that then maybe the internet is too much of a challenge for you
oh and I mentioned putting the morals to one side earlier. I know whats right and wrong but technically what the salvagers are doing is not wrong so where does that leave your arguement?

Take a deep breath and let's start again...
My contention: The majority of the people on that beach intend to take the goods and not report them. They therefore intend to steal them. That makes them thieves. In addition, and regardless of their intentions, they have quadrupled the amount of mess on the beach. That makes them scum.
Your contention: A bloke on the news was filmed taking a bike, he subsequently filled in a form, therefore all the chavs on the beach must have honourable intentions.
Your contention = ****.
I hope that has helped clear things up for you.

Police are giving these “salvage” people forms to fill in which basically dictate that they have to detail what they have taken (As they are legally allowed to take things) however, if the shipping firm or their insurers claim any item back within one year, they must return it

***Jumps on soapbox***
What is it with our Chavvy, pikey materialistic society?
A boat breaks up - A million pikeys trash the beach trying to get a steering wheel.
A new Ikea opens - A million pikeys block the road trying to get a cheap sofa.
The Boxing Day sales open - A million pikeys, having just maxxed out their "Yes" loans on Xmas, descend on the shops and blow more money on a cheap flat screen TV.
*****.

The only thing you have managed to clear up is that you must have a very large brain, to hold so much ignorance. You are basing your arguement on the fact that they might not report what they have taken. My arguement is simpley nobody has stolen anything yet!!!!
But anyway, keep talking. I always yawn when I'm interested.

Is a bargain worth getting arrested for?
Is a bargain worth getting stampeded over?
Is a bargain worth fighting over?
It's nothing to do with being rich or poor.
It's all to do with a society that says a 42" flat screen TV is a critical part of modern life and if you can't afford it via "normal" routes, you have to do something stupid or criminal to get it.
It's the modern tick box of items you "must" have that is stupid.
"I'm on benefits yet without a home cinema system, I'm considered worse off than anyone" - How about trying to live without one?
"I earn bugger all and am horribly in debt yet MUST have a new car. Therefore I'll loan myself up even more"
Why not get an older, cheaper car?

no,
no.
Its the society we live in though. You or I can't change it.
People either live without it or get into debt - thats their call.
Older/cheaper is a better idea, I agree. But if someone wants then thats what credit is for
I don't know many people with houses that own them outright.
Other than you i assume?

Branscombe is about as local to me as France is to you.
And I'm interested in the environmental impact of the disaster - How many birds die, how much marine life gets destroyed, how many beaches get wrecked.
Not in the slightest bit interested in some salt water logged bike being thieved by some pikey.
