Get on with it, I had a couple of issues with the stiches getting rejected but to be honest I would consider haviong the whole lot lopped off in preference to another kid !
You don't need to shave all your pubes off, sometimes its just a good excuse if you just fancy shaving all your pubes off, you know, a deep hot bath, a few cans of Stella and your razor, wake up the next morning with the last turkey in the shop look.

Had it done a couple of years ago 
the examination by the consultant was more painfull
he really had a dig around to find the tubes... (brought tears to my eyes 
)
he said i would have to have a general, due to one of the tubes being well hidden by my nuts
As it was i got an earlier date than having just a local..
the surgeon was good, popped in about 15 mins beforehand, and did a last minute check... said "i,m not into loads of cutting and pulling around".. "one stich and thats it"
true to his word.....
one stich under my old chap, looks like a little X and that was it. i was out by lunch time, and spent the afternoon sleeping of the anasthetic...
couple of days of work.... plenty of painkillers walked like a cowboy.. for a
few days
and thats it... hehe (apart from the bruising)
did they go black....
Oh and dont get conned by the shaving bit!!!!
I asked how much..... ALL the nurse said..... and it HAS to be Immac'd
so i did it ferk does it burn...
when i got there and they went for a look..... oh she says "you could have just shaved a small part underneath !!!!
bet they have a book running on how many they get that way

Had this done last july courtesy of her majesty at TPMH in Akrotiri.
I was shocked at the audience i had . As i was wheeled in there was no less than 6 people hanging around in the theatre. I thought they'll all **** off in a minute but no, they all stayed 
. Some chick was there stood by my head and we pretty much just chatted throughout the whole op, dunno what she was actually in there for.
Worst part was probably the cut and stitches afterwards, felt like scratches (the anesthetic only numbs the tubes, not the *******), although at one point when he found the first tube (one each side btw!) he gave it a tug, I felt it right up my body into my throat, proper eye waterer
. The guy stood the other side of me said "where did you feel that, in your feet or your shoulder" to which i replied "no, in my ******* *****!!".
Anyway, i had to wear a gown and i was starkers underneath. Didnt have to shave, surgeon said there's no need. Laid on bed, they lifted gown and placed one of them green surgical sheets over (like in casualty and holby), gave it some **** wash and cracked on.
On a final note and tip, wear tight pants and for the first 24 hours don't **** about, you wont feel it then but by christ when the pain relief stuff wears off you'll know about it.
It took about 2 weeks to heel (was summer over here, so always being sweaty down below didnt help) and had result through other day - It worked

Someone I once knew had 'the snip'. At a Harley Street clinic. Only the best would do - then he paid with a rubber cheque so it never actually cost him a penny.

I bet women didn't complain half as bloody much in the caves, without painkillers and all the stuff that makes it easy nowadays!! They just got on with it!!
And a man does NOT have it done ..... he tells his wife/GF to make the necessary arrangements to avoid pregnancy, it's their body after all

Forgot to say, when I had mine done, the stitches itched and kept pulling as they caught in my jockeys
I finally got sick of them, and took them out myself.

Had it done last year, no probs at all just 3 days off work to stop them pulling a bit but as far as the op goes it was ok a bit of pain but nothing much, as they used to say to us in the Para Regt, if you can't take a joke you should'nt have joined! goo d luck
