Here we go again!
Somebody ****s up and every copper in the country is to blame.
Firstly, unlikely a Copper did it as lost dogs are generally dealt with by civillian staff.
Secondly, If it was a copper why do most of you blame the "Police"as a whole??
If i had a painter paint my house and he made a **** job. Does that mean every Painter in the whole ****ing country is **** !!! ???. No! So get agrip!
Thirdly, I have two rescue lurchers, they are treated like royalty, there my babies! "whoever" let the dog starve should be sacked and starved!

Its about application and attention to detail.

The fact that no one in the station appeared to know there was a dog locked up is an absolute disgrace in its own right.

Someone in that police station should be prosecuted for cruelty and neglect.

I think it is a general opinion right or wrong, that things that the police do, or don't do, that would result in an ordinary member of the public beng held to account, often result in no action being taken when it is a police person at fault.

Eg, the De Menzes shooting.

The genenral feeling I suspect, is that whilst no one in the police is condoning this negligence, little will happen to the parties responsible.

I think you should grow up you prize plonker. If the tortured and murdered creature should have been with the RSCPA and the police had it, then it was their responsibility to ensure the dog got to the RSPCA... It wasnt their responsibilty to starve it to death.
This is appalling and harsh punishments for the negligent plod responsible is the only recourse...

"Selfish sub human scum" Is that all Police?, all the RSPCA? Or just everyone in general?

Can't speak for all Forces but the old "White Wash" doesn't really happen anymore. Certainly not at low level, like the poor dog incident. If someone is to blame in person then the **** hits the fan. I've been there believe me! No one is perfect. Seems their was a breakdown in communication and numerous people are responsible.
As for the RSPCA, they rarely have involvement with the Police. When a dog is taken in it generally stays until the dog warden (Local Athority) picks it up. Then who knows???

On a slightly different note, a dog of mine years ago was almost put down because a copper was unable to describe my dog correctly. It was a border terrier and the copper described it as a cocker spaniel. In desperation we drove to the station anyway to find him there. My dog was only hours away from being taken away to be put down.

If the copper didn't know his dogs, why didn't he just fecking say so? He was also apparently colour blind, describing a largely tan coloured dog as black.

I'm sure that made a whole lot of difference to the dog

No one (as far as I can see) was suggesting that the Police deliberately starved the dog to death.

What is being criticised and quite rightly so, is the quite unacceptable suffering the dog will have endured as it died from starvation/dehydration due to individuals (who should have an even greater duty of care than the rest of us) cocking up.

Or are you insinuating that because they didn't deliberately kill the dog, that their actions are excusable?

You need to calm down 'oh victimised one'... You'll have a coronary in no time with the tone of your posts! Plus all the donuts you must eat down the custody suite in between dodging 999 calls and parking in disabled bays, while buying ya lady facial hair remover from the supermarket

Seriously, oh happy West Mercia Man, I meant the useless feckwits who work (hopefully soon to be past tense) in the section of the building where the dog was tortured to death by starvation. Whether it's Doris the cleaner or chuffin Inspector Morse or Sergeant Bob Chuffin Cryer, they are selfish sub human scum...

Now climb down off you over protective soap box and relax...

Sweet lord man, my heart rate just went over 70bpm typing that

******* filth

That poor dog left to suffer and die in traumatic circumstances and undoubtedly a lot amount of pain

All it needed was someone to love it and nurture it back to full health when I'm sure it would have then made a great pet

Barsta*ds

Heads should roll for this.

Oh I see. Because they neglected it then that is ok then?

Can we assume from the content of your posts on this thread you don't really see this as an issue? That you don't really care? It is only a dog after all .

To quote you. Grow up.

Perhaps the dog was brought in on a Friday night (Was it not New Years, a traditionally quiet sober affair in Scotland) when it was all kicking off, got put in a kennel and all manner of hell was breaking loose with drunks, prostitutes, fights etc and the person in question got distracted or perhaps called to a fatal RTA, stabbing, suicide, shooting or perhaps injured during by a charming member of the public ?

The dog possibly just retired into he corner and didnt make a sound (quiet breed), I very much doubt that the entire station would be sat there seeing how long a dog takes before it dies of starvation, placing bets on the number of days, I doubt they sat there ignoring the distressed barking coming from the kennels wondering where it was coming from.

Our dog got lost, we thought for good, she turned up, I dread to think of what I would have been called and had threatened if she had met with harm ?

Do you really think that anyone involved will not be upset about this, they f*cked up and the dog died.

The real culprit in all this is the turd that abandoned the dog in the first place.

How'd you know bout my mrs facial hair!!

Joke and apart.

You may see a marked police car parked inappropriately, he may be a lazy tosser, but he may well have raced there to prevent or detect a crime, he's hardly likely to find a local pay and display Now like it or not, we do help save lives. I accept we are loathed by the ignorant people out there. But, Food for thought! who do you think the fire fighters and ambulance crews call when they can't gain access to a callapsed old lady in a locked house or see smoke coming from a building. It isn't the local lock smith it's the Police.
Heaven forbid we should do something right
