And what are we supposed to do with the rest of the screen eh?
I'm sure you must have your monitor in portrait mode for this width to make any sense!
Oh and the SAVE button doesn't work in the quick edit window

Certainly looking more modern although agree with the width comments so far but I have read the give it a month request so hope it grows on us.
Bottom line is well done for a great forum and no matter how much anyone moans if it wasn't so addictive they wouldn't keep coming back

Am seeing exactly the same on the Mac. You should have asked for some beta-testers
As for the width, I'm guessing that you won't allow just the forum to be resizable and leave the rest as a fixed width as it'd look untidy? I shall try the new fixed width setup, but it would be nice to have an option, for the forum only, to use varible width, and looking at what I can see from the menu, it's CSS, so it should be possible, the only thing I can see after a very very brief look is that the banner image would need to be resizable, or stay it's fixed width which might look a bit odd.
Not a bad redesign all in all One hopes there will also be progress made on making the forum a better place to be as well

Yeah, fixed width no probs, I'll stick with it for a month or so. Weird, and kinda makes my widescreen monitor a bit of a waste od time, and I know you lot have done all sorts of wonderful and not so merry things to bring about this change....
BUT
The flapping text boxes for quick reply and advanced reply are still as narrow as before
Shaun, you know full well I moaned about the stupidly narrows widths before all this happened.
Think I'll have to turn my monitor 90 degrees to make full use of it
Opinion spouted, so I'll bug off now, cheers

Having had a quick look at VB's style manger, it looks as if all that would need to be changed, forum wise I mean, would be the "Main Table Width" option in styles, from, I'm guessing "760" to "100%". My test setups do mention this is customiszed in the style as well, but I've not had a thorough search through yet to find out exactly where (need to find the actual name of the option too). I might have a play with the firefox web developer extension to see if that'll allow me to change this value via the HTML and CSS editing tools, if so I'll post a screenshot of what it looks like, but I'm guessing it'll look a little odd.

right...
the mac thing is going to take a bit of work.
The first thing we need to do is get you a proper computer!!
Mac users on ScoobyNet account for approx 0.2%, so we couldn't justify the delay to get it spot on for macs.. sorry guys. We'll get onto it soon.

Oh it fits, or I should say, is centered, it's just the top which isn't displaying correctly in Safari or Firefox. I might download the page and have a play around with the html and CSS and see what needs changing and then report back to webby

LOL.
Markus.. Finding html code to make things resize is not the issue. Let's not do this now. As requested, please give it a punt for a month, then we'll talk about it if its still hell on earth.
Cheers

you bad lad you just lost that 0.2% now !!
everytime i have spoken to you via email or msn, it is on a mac and did you know any different?
dont worry about fixing it for us, we can carry on as usual without getting our knickers in a twist, because we are like that, cool, calm and collected and pretty decent chaps
(unlike our sweaty **** PC breathern )
I have another bug for you to fix, but will hold off on that until you have the time

Joking aside, if you need a few mac users to hit a test page to check for consistency, I'd be happy to help, same goes on the VB style side of things, should you wish to include a varible width option.
