These are facts , and it is unique because there's nothing on the market remotely like it .

Smaller - Not exactly a USP;
More reliable - thats subjective, although to be fair, I haven't heard many stories of returned Wiis;
For All Ages - again subjective as all consoles will suggest this;
Cheaper - I guess you get what you pay for

Yes, but some gaming experiences are just plain infantile. Doesn't interest me at all I'm afraid.

I agree, I'm a massive Nintendo fan but I've held off getting a Wii until I'm sure they have solid 3rd party support - this is what's let them down in the past. I want itto go the way of the DS, but something deep down tells me it's a gimmick.

I had heard a rumour that they would work but did'nt want to rush out and get region B discs only to find they don't.
How many have you tried out of interest ?.

I'm interesting in starting my BR collection also, but I've heard that the PS3 doesnt output films in 720p yet - is this true?

I also heard it's supposed to be something that'll be in the first dashboard update, timed to coincide with the European launch.

I'm another unconvinced by the Wii's future - I'd like a go on one to see what the fuss is about but I fear it'll turn out the same as what the N64 did in my house - I got GoldenEye for that and thats it - no other games interested me and the wife hasnt let me forget it since! "You're NOT buying that for one game!"

I doubt it'll be long before Sony & MS jump on the controller bandwagon and follow suit, just like what happened when Nintendo launched the rumble feature years ago.

Got around 8 blueray disc's now a mixture of both A and B region coding (according to the sleeves anyway) all work fine, other peoples consoles that are USA work fine as well at the moment. Must admit a real eye opener on quality is Ice age 2

i was holding out for the PS3 TBH, but after the price announcement from sony regarding the PS3

i went out today and bought an Xbox 360

i had a £50 argos voucher from XMAS, so it cost me £194 for a core package, 2 games and an extra controller, shame there was no memory card, but i supposed i will buy an HD sometime this week.

fantastic machine so far

I just don't find standing in front of the telly wiggling my hand about to make a bandly drawn sprite bounce up and down particularly interesting or engaging? For the same reason, I never likethe eye toy on the PS3, (which seems to have dies a death after the initial fever than surrounded its release)...

p.s. If you look at any of my previous posts, you would already know that I thought that GOW was rubbish and boring.

Not sure of the Wii's future but i'd still buy one even if it was just for Zelda, but the PS3 at that price doesn't appeal to me, specially when a good half of the launch titles have been out a fair while on the 360, and to a lesser extent the Wii.

PS3 seriously lagging, and seriously expensive.

Oh and LG are soon to release their multi-format HD-BR disc player to supplement both options of the DVD future.

Might not be necessary as some dvd manufacturers are bringing out films with HD on one side and Blueray on the other, should keep both camps happy

That makes them a lot more expensive to produce though. Eventually one format will win out over the other, and historically that has usually been the cheaper to produce (i.e. larger profits) and the cheaper to buy...

I work in the EyeToy Group at Sony.

It's still supported on PS2, at least by us. Much more aimed at the younger/very casual gamer at the moment.

Eye3 is coming for PS3, it has hardcore potential...

Cheers

Interesting. Any plans to incorporate gamer face technology etc, (I know MS are looking at it for the 360 camera)?

MS are working with DigiMask, we used their tech to create EyeToy:Cameo on the PS2. That worked with a few titles...

We'll be releasing something much better for PS3

Cheers

MS (or should that be UbiSoft) already has face mapping implemented in Rainbow Six:Vegas.

Is there a WRC title coming out on the PS3?

That will decide where my money goes...

I don't think Sony have the licence anymore, so it looks unlikely.
