Whats best Apex Power Fc or Scooby ECU or another?

He does travel the country mapping, as stated in his site on the Apexi Power FC page.

apexi would be the best choice for the money. well proven and tested. last ej20motor i tuned was 330ft ibs/374hp @ fly stock block, dyno dynamics dyno.
u can get good results when you tune properly with ANY system really. admittedly there is no knock control with apexi but when tuned properly the results are great.
as for maf, u can even use a z32 afm. tried n tested and good enough on an Sr20det for around 586hp (or thereabouts) ;-)

I've a 95 RA with the same parts you're putting on, plus some other tweaks. Pushing the absolute limits of original turbo (still on TD05-16g 90deg inlet) and somewhere around 370bhp. I've also got an AVC-R fitted for fine boost control.
Let me tell you that once all parts are fitted (with an upgraded sensor) and the car is mapped correctly, you won't be running "1.2-1.5 bar". You will run stuck on 1.5 bar all day long and you'll have a very wide smile
Knock won't be a problem if the map is correct so don't worry that the PFC doesn't retard timing (I sometimes get a CEL flash up a hill under load WOT in 4th/5th, that's about it).
I'd suggest you get a knocklink fitted too, so you can tell instantly if there is a knock problem (sometimes poor batches of petrol can cause knock on WOT)

You shouldn't need a knock sensor.
The Power FC has a function that makes the engine warning light flash on an off when you experience a dangerous amount of knock

I would suggest getting a knocklink, detalarm or one of these Phormula KS-3 which seem to be very well made.
More for peace of mind than anything else.

Another ecu option for a version 2 would be an ESL live mapping board, have a look at their website....

It is what I am having fitted to my version 1 at the end of March.
