Another point to bear in mind was for a long time house prices were fairly sensible i.e. a few times Mr Average's annual salary and Porsches looked pricey, because for the price of a 911 you really COULD buy a house. Nowadays £60k+ cars don't look that expensive compared to the ludicrous amount it costs to get in at the basement of the housing ladder. House prices for those who aren't already owners are out of control and have no relation to wages or even to their own rebuild costs. I predict more and more younger people will think 'sod buying a house, just spend some money on a really nice car' And live in it LOL.
