Why does your daughter care what a bunch of strangers on a CAR website think of her musical talent? According to PSL every word on this thread will either encourage, or discourage, your daughter.

A. Attach the name pslewis to it!
Q. Why does she care what a group of strangers think?
A. Because strangers are those who will hear her songs (not everyone knows who she is yet!)
I did request that posters judge the link on its merits - not because I was the one who posted it.

B-B I hope you and the young lady have learned something from the professional advice offered?
Any other comments will be monitored closely I'm sure by a passionate mother

My daughter posted the video on You Tube herself to get it seen. So any extra viewing whether it be a bunch of strangers on a car website or whatever is a bonus. There is always a danger that someone who knows someone may pass educated comments. LOL. As it goes that is what has happened and she has received a valuable critique and an offer to talk about her uni course choice.
She has no aspirations of being the next X-factor 'singer'. She merely enjoys it.

I reckon it'd sound ten times better on a nice acoustic guitar though.
It's a 'nice' safe song but nothing new or anything that really stands out I'm afraid.

I play guitar and sing a bit and have done for a couple of years now. I even wrote a few songs but mostly sing other peoples stuff.
One of the differences between me and this young lady however is that she has a lot more talent. Because people in general are saturated with 'produced' music they miss the obvious when faced with someone who can hold a tune, engage an audience and do it whilst writing their own material. If she was to spend a few quid hiring a studio and getting this recorded properly it would be superb.
I thought it was just great!
I'm going to concentrate on Classical music from now on
