Deano, thanks got the ccf.

however, I have a wee problem.

I'm a mac man, thus I've got a USB to serial adapter, into which I've plugged me pronto. i've followed the info in the unoffical FAQ, and it will upate the beastie, but it won't upload or download CCF files to it, says that pronto not found on com port 1 or 2.

anyone using virtual pc and macintosh with a pronto and got it working?

I have a Pronto RU890 and it's the dogs wheels.

The configurability of it is quite stunning and has replaced 8 remotes in the room.

Thumbs up

Markus,
ProntoPROedit is for the PRO, which is the colour model only.
Does the ccf work OK on the emulator? Have you set ProntoEdit up for the correct Pronto memory size? Is it a Pronto ccf, or an RC5000 ccf that you've been sent which uses the Back function?
email me if you want, I can't guarantee anything, but I'll give any help I can.
Martin.

well, deano sent me his ccf, which installed ok, BUT I did install it via a PC, i think the problem is that it's the connection between VPC and the device and the mac that's causing the problem.

I do remember seeing various Mac/VPC/Pronto threads on remotecentral but cant add anything that isn't in their FAQ

It does seem that people had problems with prontoedit and macs though.

The faq has a fairly scary section on using xmodem to transfer the file - have you tried that ?

Tiggs - only if you're using a Mac

nope, i can assure u this is complex on a pc as well if you aint got a clue!

is there not a guide to proto edit somewhere, the proto manual doesnt cover the pc stuff and remote central seems to assume a level of understanding thats beyond me!

so far i've got a few bits from others configs so i know it all works but as to how i tailor it to my own taste i am lost!

Tiggs,
there is a ProntoEdit guide downloadable from remotecentral. It's here http://www.remotecentral.com/files/docs.htm.
Martin.

Edited to add url.
