AFAIK, the newage is stronger than the UK - Also, the 00 model is slightly stronger than the preceeding UK models too.

The 5spd sti boxes are stronger too - so, basically, as long as its NOT a 98 or older UK box, it'll take a bit more !

Note that I've no solid experience on this though, only what I've read over the last few years -

On the clutch point - mine did 80000 miles with minor mods (decat) and wore out - then I went for an uprated 'exedy' item from API - it coped with the 320bhp, was better to use (and lighter) than the oem item and was still going strong at 140000 miles.....

Hope this helps,

Mark

Hi Matey - I'm doing OK

Glad to hear that you're still enjoying the motor ! - 330/300 is nice - Have you made any further modifications to get that, or is it variances in temp/rr'ds ?

I've an 02 UK STI Bugeye now - a few mods and currently running 330/322 on the stock turbo - however, currently is not the right word, as I fitted a new air intake system last weekend (cold air from the bumper), a new FPR and an AndyF td05/18g this weekend and Andy is doing another map next Sunday.

I've not spent the same insane amount of money on this one (yet !) though and so the suspension is fairly stock, as are the wheels, lights and bodywork ....

Took me a year to get back into ScoobyLand, but I'm happy to be back...

Cheers,

Mark

Although I'm sure I'm in a minority here, I think keeping the standard dump valve will protect your 'box that little bit more. Most will agree that a VTA DV causes jerkyness when driving. I think this causes stress to the 'box so running a std DV should reduce the stresses.

My belief anyway and why I don't have one anymore.

I've got STI8 IC. Want either VF28/29/30 or 35. Uprated fuel pump. Don't know if you need a fuel reg too. Ported headers and then TEK mapping.

Should see over 300 depending on turbo.
Think your right there mate.Im running 300+bhp with a paddle clutch and baily dump valve and have gone through 2 standard boxes.

I have always run the stock oem dump valve - so it didn't help me there I'm afraid.... but I could imagine it might not help to run a VTA - Yet another reason NOT to have one

Here's how I got 320bhp (minus 1bhp) and, as importantly, similar torque, on my MY99
