Well it was a tough day yesterday, hopefully I have come to then end of a long road and the problem with this boost issue, which has been going on since the engine was built has been found.

Disappointed with yesterday, not with the mapping but after comming back and reflecting on the day I wish I asked more questions. Too busy concentrating on trying to solve the boost problem.

Hopefully tommorow when I get a harder spring in the DV it solves the problem!, getting close to chucking in the towel though!!

Glad you lads have had good results, I hope too join soo with a Big grin on my face!!!!

Have you fitted Carl Daveys manifold spacers ? maybe you need to budget that mod in shortly to keep those inlet temps down.
Well thats my guess from, what other people are making with similar spec cars with a bit extra for the methanol. 330-350 is about the norm for a VF34 on normal petrol, the Methanol should add about 20bhp

Andy said my engine was quiet (no knock) and handle the igintion avdvance and extra boost well

Not doing anymore for a while performance wise now, Manifold spacers can wait till the next round of mods, which will include a new engine, bigger turbo and Headers

I've heard you say that before and then new coiovers, 6 speed box, new clutch, lightened flywheel need I say anymore

You must be over the moon with those results, Mine is a quick car but 360bhp is a fantastic figure.

I'm doing no more to mine now unless a set of STi7/8 seats come up at £200 and then I'll snap there arm off. Saying that I just picked up a new set of mintex 1155 pads off ebay for a bargin price

I'm looking to sell this year but it's all down to timing. The little business venture is ticking along quite nicley. Chris has already put first dibbs on my exhaust which would be nice to see it kept in the welsh section

Can't believe someone else hasn't spotted the problem before , but glad you've managed to get it sorted and the car will finally drive like it's suppose to.

I've striped the red spring out of my old dump valve and the blue one is already in my tool box. I'll have them both with me tomorrow. Lets hope this sorts it out.

I know but i must resist for a while at least the next load of engine mods will probably be about £5-6K which i can't afford with buying a house anyway.

Only things i'll be doing for now are just little bits that need tidying, like get my splitter re-painted, get the door cards trimed to match the seats and fit some shiny bits under the bonnet.

Bring the BOV with aswell mate, just in case. I stripped the DV out last night and it was bogging, nice and clean now, have fitted it on the car so will see how it drives on the way to the meet and and then I will swop the springs when i'm there.

The spring in there should be OK, going by Forge's website clicky, it does say as a guide though.

I used the red spring in mine with the TD04 running 1.1 bar for 2 years and never had a problem.

I can't bring the DV with me as I broke the the flimsy vacum pipe connector off whilst removing the spring, I'll need to have a word with guy I know he'll be able to tap it out and redo a connector for me,

Did spot you Matt Yea both myself and lee had an excellant day. Im really happy with the car, 1.4 bar feels much smoother now and the best thing is theres no detination. Just need to sort out a few issues with the turbo (doesnt give full boost till 5k!!!!) and get a stronger engine built up. We would like to thank dean for organising everything and a big thanks to Andy for all his hard work, the man is a legand
