Posers cruise = THE FULL LOOP !"!
It has to be mentioned again ( Getting bored of saying it over & over again tbh )
Even though the front was closed of last night ( And the full loop would of been unable to complete )
I Was gutted @ the increasig numbers of cars parking straight up @ the coffee / do nut stall straight away last night after the re group @ the Westclff end
This is NOT How we have ever done it since we started back in 2001 & NOT how i really wish it to continue
The Posers cruise is about POSING ( Showing of your cars to others ) 99% of the public / other cruisers are down the bottom end / Peter pans area so hence over the last 4/5 years we have completed this route
Now it seems to be the norm to park up straight away & not complete the route
It only needs one car to pull over & everyone else follows , Hence the group gets split up & the whole cruise looks a mess , Myself & a few others have worked very hard on making this cruise appealing to everyone not just us , But other members of the public e mail into Phil ( SIDC Chairman ) At how good we all look together cruising the front , Please lets try & keep it this way or else we will see the demise of our " Flagship event "
I Understand why some want to do this ( I Have even been tempted myself ) , Parking is easier , No que @ the do nut stall etc .. But imho it ruins the whole night / cruise , You can drive to park up @ Southend any other sat night of the year & park straight away adjacent to the donut stall
But please please can we on a POSERS CRUISE NIGHT , ALL COMPLETE THE FULL CIRCUIT
Rant over & Breathe

Sorry But i do normally do the FULL route, with the KIDS,
but when i get to the DONUT stall there is NO ROOM & i cant leave the kids in the car,Gut feeling, about thieves ETC.. & being so far away from the cafe, i never STAY.
Last nite, 1st time out alone with the wife, & wanted a Nice nite a laugh, DONUT & HOT CHOCOLATE, good parking space.
this was a one off from me & i'll try my BEST not to do it again..

glad i had you to follow tiny else id have never made it back to the front! lol.. i always do the full circuit too, sometimes twice, but i never manage to get parked up, so last night, although odd with front closed, least meant i got aparking space and a chat by the donuts!

Not sure what the police actually achieved last night.
We were still there at about 10.30 and the front was filling nicely with all the regular "boy-racers" turning up and cruising up and down.

Ok, found out why today we were not able to drive down the seafront, "got connections now phil" thanx to mr and mrs Bobby they told me today after having to visit them, the seafront was shut for 2 reasons.
Firstly there was many arrests yesterday what with the football hooligans rampaging down the seafront, then there was a massive crusie before we got there, regarding the young lad killed by a drunk driver whilst crusie down the A13 a month ago, aparently they where expecting 200+ cars to turn up down the seafront last night........Then the police officer said i just saw
Subaru after Subaru turning up on the seafront, and we where told to turn you all away

It was my first meet other than the tunnel run, so didn't really speak to anyone, but had fun anyway. As for the route, I just followed the car in front so don't know the proper way to go.
Whoever it was who had the dog there, my little girl wanted to take him home even if she was too shy to stroke him!
On the way home I was stopped at the end of the seafront by the road block who asked where we had just come from. When I said we were with all the Subaru's parked up at the Casino she said that was ok. I asked why it was all shut off and she said that the football fans were kicking off in the streets and that a car cruise of 400 cars was due to hit the seafront about 10pm. They were told to close the road by the powers that control these things.
I am going to bring the family along to a pub meet soon and try to get to know some of you too.

DO'S & DON'TS FOR ALL POSERS
1. No doughnuts , flamefests or letting us hear how nice your exhaust sounds in Tescos car park . This is our home please don't abuse it .
2. Once on the move keep checking your mirrors & when other vehicles get stuck in the convoy please indicate & move over to lane 1 and let them filter through .
3. Once in two lanes try to keep in your lane & please indicate if you must change lane mid convoy .
4. Be ready for the "Underpass" slow down & launch ~ Ditto @ traffic lights .
5. When regrouping at the front drive all the way around the bend and DOUBLE PARK before the speed camera .
6. Pose ALL the way along the front past the Kursaal & double back @ the Thorpe Esplanade roundabout .
7. Get yourself a two way radio set to Channel 1 . ONLY to be used for shepherding the convoy . Use another channel if you want to play .
8. Fixed Cameras ~ Traffic Units ~ Mobile Cameras ~ You have been warned .
9. Above all HAVE FUN .
Mark
