I used to shoot handguns regularly when I was in a gun club at RMCS Shrivenham. Back then, full bore pistol shooting (at targets) was an Olympic sport and legal in this country. Being a military base we had access to most police/army weapons used at the time, and used to try them out each week.
I kept my weapons at the base armoury, and never took them home or off base. It was a lot of fun doing practical pistol competitions (running around shooting at pop-up targets etc), but sadly it ended after Thomas Hamilton f*cked it up for everyone.
I wasn't trying to be a 'gangsta' or anything, it was just a hobby like fishing or going to watch a footy match.

Practical Pistol stuff is a real good challenge - hard to get it right and has a practical application.
Sig 225 was the handgun I always felt most comfortable with.
I think the people on here that have come into contact with handguns proffesionaly. 1.Treat them with alot of respect 2.Are probably the last people you would ever find carrying one on the street.
Personaly I never go near the things anymore and am quite happy never to come accross another gun in my life.
