It's OK Mr Bank Manager - if you lend me for the TV, I've a nice diamond to secure the loan against

I bought my wife her engagement rings (yes, plural) in January, six years after we got married. (eClaire will love that!). They cost 100quid for the pair (she knows, she was there) and she's absolutely happy. Also just saw a CBS prog on real vs synthetic (cultured, grown) diamonds; oh boy, de Beers really put some marketing bollox into that!

(At the same time, I chose to spend a fortune on a watch that doesn't keep very good time Each to their own!)

well done that man, a double celebration. Your scoob on the featured scoob page and ..uhhh...ummmm oh yes on getting engaged (in no particular order) ...just think in years to come, your missus will look back on this day and say..

"darling, do you remember the 14th February 2007, that special day?"

and you will reply

"ah yes, I remember it well, it was a great day, I was so proud and chuffed and it brings a tear to my eye even now thinking of it"

she
"ah bless you old romantic"

you
"yup, that was the day my scoob was on the front featured scoob page !! "

(followed by years in the doghouse )

Congratulations..........

but

Why oh why didn't you pick a date that perhaps meant something to the two of you rather than being a sheep and doing the Valentine's day routine

Next you'll tell me that you proposed whilst up the Eiffel Tower or something else equally as tacky ??? ..... Sorry Kenny, just couldn't resist that one
