Totally agree - if you think the food is expensive take some crisp butties and some Aldi cola

4 the guys that dont want 2 pay these ridiculous prices leave the scooby at home and take a diesel, you wont get there as quick and certainly wont have as much fun but....nahh..I'll take the scoob.I've been going 2 the autosports show now for approx 10yrs never missed one but did'nt go this year for this very reason. 2 EXPENSIVE!

Under 16's can get in free with a paying adult.

Concessions for buying tickets early. There really isn't any spare cash to give a significant discount, unless you want £1 off or similar. But you will be entered into the massive scoobynet prize draw if you have a ticket, and not if you pay on the door. Its also just part of the fun of getting involved. It costs us more to do it this way (as we have to print tickets, post them out, etc) but we thought that some would like it (as can be seen by how many people have bought them already).

--

Be aware that the costs for running the event are truly astonishing. I was stunned when I looked at it. Insurance, Venue hire, staffing, etc.. its really adds up to an astronomical sum of cash.

Then start to add in the time an effort put in by those who run it, and it really doesn't add up to a particularly worthwhile excercise in terms of finance. You'd be finacially better off getting an evening job in a bar in terms of hourly rate!

But its a lot of fun, and for ScoobyNet its all about getting everyone together, support our community and helping it grow, etc.

Anyway.. Thanks for your support guys. Look forward to seeing you there!

You take a big risk putting on event like these which solely rely an attendance to generate revenue. There is also a huge amount of time involved in the process
But surely you get some income from the burger vans and trade stands too?

On the note of tickets, £15 per person does seem high in my opinion. One reason why I'm not doing any shows at all this year is the cost of going, theres also food and drink which is often way way over priced. I agree with most people, if your taking your family it will get expensive.
I ONLY BLEEDIN ASKED !! i live in wales by the way so it would have been a trek but managable , it's easy for you it's on your doorstep

Don't forget, many Scoobynetters want something for nothing. It could be perceived that people don't appreciate how big Scoobynet actually is now. Long gone are the days that it was a 2bit cheapo operation (regardless of what some might think!) - this is a going concern run by some very dedicated people who genuinely want to see the Subaru marque excel from a consumer perspective.

I don't even own a Scooby now, but will be looking at attending (once my family commitments afford me some time )

Don't bash the event - the money is for a good cause, and you lot will make the event a success. £15 is nothing in the grand scheme of things

We at the NBO committee came across similar critiscism on the price of Burgers the van is provided for us free and we get no cash backs etc from the burger van

All burger vans are 'dear now' as they all have to make a living somehow although i would bet that not many burger van owners drive scoobys like ours !!

that is their choice in life to serve burgers while many of us lets face it dont work too hard for a fair bit of the folding stuff (flame suit on)

lots of the club stands took their own BBQs last year for in club cooking and socialsing .
this is part of my <vision> for groups to have a socia scene at the NBO and many new members were hooked into membership with the lure of the CS/TTS /LADS/SMACS burgers
to me that is the way forward and for the indepentants well buy your burger and coke f you wish but as someone said earlier take your own its not tight Ive spent the last 20 odd years having picnics in cars .Its great fun talking in a car with your partners/friends eating and watching the world go past through the steam on the windows of the hot flask and money saved too.

Its all to do with choice although i prefer Coca colsa to aldis own

15 quid is expensive when it's as wet as last year's show.
If it's sunny, then 15 quid will seem cheap.

Either way i'll be going with my 15 year old wife and 2 x children.(with rola cola and tesco value crisp)

If i wasn't participating i don't think i'd pay for this TBH. I went to TOTB III and after all the feed back of 2 previous shows still couldn't get it half right so they have lost my custom (and many others) on that one.

I know they have a lot of costs to cover, but it seems some events are run better than others, as for the the food stands, ABSOLUTE RIP OFF at any venue in the UK, but i think they're just trying to regain the high trade stand pitch prices they have to pay.

Oh course,

revenue from concessionaires such as food and auto related but this is all down to the profile of the show, previous/estimated attendance and a few other factors such as what else is on at the same time. This is not a particularly big or high profile show (yet) compared to some.

Lot of people unhappy with paying £15 to have a generally good day, see some nice cars and do something other than sit around being bored.......quite surprising really as if you look at how far £15 goes in fuel for the car of your choice.........

Nah, I'll just go off-roading instead: £20 all day, just add petrol and mud.

And I'll actually be doing the driving; Not stand around watching someone else do it

Burgers are cheaper too

15 quid should not be a lot of money to a impreza owner, it costs me that in fuel to go to the shops down the road!

If myself, Manda po and Little Frank wanted to go, it would cost us £45 quid. It's a fecking rip-off, no two ways about it.

Talking of Scoobynet prize draws who won the Rally Driving Day ? did it ever get announced? or is it still being drawn

I take it Scoobylive is essentially what was Scooby Shootout

I won't be going either, due to the cost, but not just of the event admission, its the cost of fuel to get there, taking 3 kids too, need to keep them occupied/entertained, fed & watered etc

Its one of the reasons I stopped going to the Pod, was costing 100 quid easily for a day out each time I went, and that was before looking at any potential stands to purchase things from, like Subaru Stands etc

Bubba. How old is "Little Frank"?

--

Thanks for the support guys, its going to be a fantastic event, I think that's obvious by the buzz this year already.. usually things don't hot up until really close to an event, but the competitor places are actually selling out fast - this is VERY unusual, even for ten of the best (so if you want to compete, you need to get cracking) ...

We've also sold loads more tickets than we expected to, which just goes to show how much enthusiasm there is for the event this year.

There are a few surprises due for this event, but mainly its a great chance for us all to get together and just enjoy what we're all here for.

Some will think its too expensive, and that is absolutely 100% fine of course - those people won't go, which is a shame for us and for them, but there will be many thousands who will be there, enjoying the sunshine (PLEASE!), petrol head action, and even the overpriced burgers!!!

I honestly can't wait, and I look forward to seeing you all there.

Simon
