I do agree Special additions should be kept more less standard. And not have shopping lists, or any other silly stickers and rubbish like neons ect plasturd all over the car.

There was a UK 22B at the NBO last year, IIRC 8 thousand miles covered, totally standard - Just the way it should be

WR1 shouldn't be stickered up IMO, makes it look gash in a bad way.

The £££'s comment was to put the person that mentioned it "back in the box"-Nothing more than that

COLZO - as you say "each to their own" - do you have a blue scoob with gold wheels?

Nothing matey, just proving a point about making your car "individual" whether its a Ltd Edition or not.

A limited edition is, by its very nature, individual. Sticking all that gubbins all over makes the owner look like some kind of sad wannabee.

Same reason as anybody - they go fast, sound great, are extremely reliable and I can afford one. Plus, even an untalented driver like myself can go fast safely in it.

I strongly suspect that scribbling all over it doesn't significantly change those characteristics.

Actually it add's 75bhp Making that particular one in excess of 425bhp!!

Even with the extra weight of the de-cals

Note the comment about not being a fantastic driver - You make up for it with your keyboard warrior skills

Admit it you "love de-cals" really - I bet the Mr's wont let you have them done

Changing a 22b in any way would wind me up. Why buy a 22b and turn it into something else? All you do to it is lessen its value. It makes no sense.

"Debadging my car"

"Rebadging my car"

"De-barring wagons"

"Need to put bars back"

"Getting stickered up"

"What's the best way to remove unwanted decals?"

"Best dump-valve"

"Getting tired of the p'toosh"

The sum total of all the stupendous effort put into pissing about with cars is a big fat zero, it just satisfies some mysterious human need to bugger about with stuff instead of leaving well alone. A 22b has a certain spoiler, wheels, front splitter etc. without them it is ruined. Why change them? Buy some mass-production version if you want to alter it, no-one's going to be that bothered. Leave the rare stuff as it is.

ok i agree with most of that but i wouldnt be at all bothered (well i wouldnt no matter what really) if someone changed say alloys on a p1 or 22b! but you are correct in what you say "leave the rare stuff as it is" because it is nice to see a completley unmolested clean shiney special edition from years back! its like being in a time machine!

I hear what everyone is saying but "a base" model would have a few drawbacks:

Base model scoob has a lack of power.

After a while the WR1 was also not powerful enough - as with all cars you get used to them.

I dont think there are "many" standard/unmolested WR1's in circulation anymore!!

Even things as small as zorst changes I assume applies to "ruining" a car as it is not in its "original" state .

The WR1 in 23g is a very "different" colour.

The WR1 was very cheap to insure,it was actually cheaper to insure than a WRX .

So you obviously hav'nt stickered up a scoob - as stated before it adds at LEAST 75bhp!! If you put them in the right places .

"mines got gold stripes so my 1's faster than your one"

Couple of hundred quid do it as long as it's done in the SWRT designs
all other decals like the cuso really really do suck
