I think you will see a hugh increase in roadside checks by VOSA if the two year MOT's come into force.Since MOT's have been computerised my local garage said that the VOSA visits have dropped right back,so they already have more time on their hands.

So the end to swapping cats for MOT's if there will be a big fine if caught by the roadside and failing an emission test,Global warming panic and another way to gather revenue.

Your kind of right Merv, but enforcement by Vosa will be more intelligence related, thus enforcement will be targeted towards law breaking individuals like operators operating illegally and ANPR. Thus getting rid of more uninsured vehicles which is absolutely fantastic imho
