A local guy. He's a friend of a friend but I didn't get any preferential prices, his are always that good. My front door and rear door were Rock doors and are composite. They were about a grand each on top of the windows prices.

You've got a few more bits and pieces but I reckon there is still movement in that price.

Safestyle are ****e, they quoted my mate (many moons ago) 8k for door & sidescreen, tilt and slide patio door and 5 windows, i got the lot supplied and fitted for under 3k and that was me making £500

Anything under £7k would be reasonable for that lot, and even then there would be very nice profit in it for whoever did the job.

Personally even if Safestyle offered to pay me for allowing them to fit windows in to my house I'd tell them to **** off.

If in the end you still like the Safestyle window the best, give them a ring and say you've had 2 lower quotes and can they match or beat them????
Refuse to give names of other companies if they ask though.
Say if you can match £7,000 then you will sign there and then!

Always worth a try, after all, they want to sell you windows more than you want to buy them!

The sample is nice - shame the real thing isn't as good. We has SS windows a couple of years ago. They did a reasonable job of fitting them and cheap windows they are OK, if I was doing it again, I'd go for something more expensive.

oh i will.

Got to be careful you don't get a lower price but the quality of the windows is 'cheap'

Do you get what you pay for????

have you seen how some companies do their 'joints' on the transoms.. they look really proud and not very neat.
safeStyles Diamond Range were smooth.

On the pricing alone I wouldn't use them. Did he ring his Manager as well

The second he went from 38 to 18 I would of said, drop the bull, give me your best price or leave.

was put off by them when saw them at the Ideal Home Expibition at Donny park the other week, they quoted £1200 fitted for a WHITE French Door standard sizes of 2100x1800

and we want two like that....with side glass panels either side of 600mm each

going to ring a few others now.

we do need quite a few with 'extra' glass over standard doors/windows.. also a couple of the windows fall under the 800mm safety height.. so need toughened glass.

I've had a few companies call me back following my enquiry. So far I have been impressed with their response! I'll let you know if they are any good when i get quotes.

Has anyone got any experiance with 'non-council' building control companies? Need building regs approval without the 8 week delay

On another note........... if people are looking for any building plans drawn up...... just let me know. I'd be more than happy to offer a discount for scoobynet members.

We had anglian round last night, very impressed. product is 100% spot on with ARGON filled 24mm glass as standard, toughened glass is at no extra cost if its required. 15yr guarantee on the glass and 10yr on the frames. His advice was very good on every question we asked. their locking system beats anything weve seen so far and the seals are so much better too.
Price was a bit more than SafeStyle but not the most expensive we've had. But you're getting a product that is 10x's better now we've had time to look around at others.

Sounds like you've found your windows!
I suppose price is not always the deciding factor in making a purchase, you have to have confidence in the supplying company and most importantly its products!
