Thats pretty impressive for a teenager to keep a car like that on the road good man .

I had a 3 litre Granada when I was 18 that was pretty poor on petrol

as a teenager i would rather spend 100% of my money on going out as your missing some good years you can buy a car anytime !!!

Been there done that since I was 14-18. I would rather put it into something tangable than pissing it away on beer,

I still go out as much as I used to before the car obsessions began!

Alright then jason, whatever you like. I forgot that you actually stalked me for the last 5 years, and know where I have been, and where I havnt, and what I have done, and what I havnt.

Thanks for the concerns anyways "pmsfl" .... Sigh

How do you know what 15% of my wage is? - Or is that due to the 5 year stalking aswell?

Im not interested in weekends away clubbing, I would rather drive round europe and have sum fun out there for a weekend.

Anyway mate, well done on pissing your money away, get yourself a bourban

If you still live with your mother then theyre both playing a massive part in both your buying and running the car.....

Wow - when i was in my teens 6 years ago imprezas ( even the imports ) were stupid bloody money for what could be earnt at the time.

I had a 1.3 metro that i blew the head on within 2 months ( maybe 115mph in 4th ( top gear) had something to do with it )

I had a fiesta then that i pretty much used as a bager racer for the road- dont think there was a panel that wasnt dented.

Another metro that to slow dow you had to wind the windows down , suck the wind in your face and try like hell to grab something to slow down.

I then had a chavalier which was at the time a reasonable car.

Then i went JAP and the rest is history. I do know one thing though after years of paying for cars i would rather have 85% of my cash for important things now. Cars although nice just ****ing cost ya all the time. So touch wood the scoob keeps running for now lol

Thats goes without saying, of course its not possible for me to own one if I lived on my own, however, when people say "daddys car", pragmatically they mean that its bought for me etc. - Which is what I am reffering to in that post,

Would it matter? - Young driver needing to pass test + scooby = incentive to pass.

That said though i do kinda think it could be deemed irresponsible having such a young driver in such a powerful car. Not saying they all drive like **** but how many nova's and stereotypically young drivers cars sitting up our asses. Now they have chance to in a car that actually moves - bend them and we all pay more with our insurances.

Fair point about youngsters in fast cars - as you say, they're not all bad but some are appalling (mind you, so are some of the older ones!).

The insurance for his car, which is a sport, was shocking - if it had a turbo, I dread to think!! I think he's just happy with the street cred he's now got and just cruising round - but for how much longer??

Fair play to you fella - wish my old man was a car lover as you seem to be.

I know you can get killed at 30mph in a Nissan Micra but fair play to you and you probably done a very sensible thing in buying a non turbo. 2.0l sport is quick enough for a first car ( temporarily lol)

Ive got a 1994 2.0 turbo project which i hope to be driving soon, will have to pay around 2500-2900 on insurance though due to the very idiotic teenagers that are about.

And i paid for it all myself, an can proudly say im not a daddys boy!

I'm 16.... heres my (drivable) car (had it since october)

Had the choise of saving up and buying something nice (£500+) with tax/MOT, or buy a car to do up. Who takes the sensible option? £125 for the car, spent about £350 on it so far

And my other car:

Nice car, and you haven't chav'd it up which is a bonus. Aye I got into cars at an early age, did the going out thing but wasn't for me, I had a obsession with BMW's back in the days... I now know better

i would say between 18-21ish are the best years of your life if someone invented a time machine or something i would relive every single pint, puke , birds (even the fat ones), and being able to party all night long. if i can give you youngsters one bit of advice Dont get married and Dont have kids.
