Guy round here with P1 KEE on a RR, maybe he works/lives Swindon/Maidenhead.
I have a private plate which spells my nickname (or one of them ) my wife has one with her initials. It's a bit sad if you have to move letters or add screws to make something look like a word, thankfully mine isn't like that.

agreed, moving letters and adding extra bolts is a bit crap IMO

Phil
I'm waiting for you to buy 80NUS
I've also got one which is my first name and for digits. The plate used to belong to my Cousin who owned it the best part of 40 years, but had to give up driving a few years back. I only bought it to keep it in the family. Otherwise, I'd never of had one.

Just depends on the plate really. I have a private plate, but it's a prefix plate and not a Cherished plate.
Mine starts with an "S", so is S9 *** and cost me £250
For the same plate, as a cherished with a `5` instead of an `S` they wanted £7250.
Quite a difference, and IMHO a waste of money. I'll always keep the plate I have, and it also hides the age of the car. If you don't know what your looking at, it could be either a 2003, 2004, or 2005 STI. I've never been one for having to have the newest plate to prove I've bought a new car.
Having said all that, I think people who have the car's identity on their plate is pretty naff. i.e having `X5 ***` when you drive an X5.
Paying £250 to have the same plate on your cars for life is money well spent IMHO.

So Nick Mason, with his Ferrari 250GTO, numberplate 250 GTO, is "emotionally insecure" is he?
******* nonsense. If you can't afford one, fair enough. Don't assume those who can must have "problems" of one sort or another.
However, plates which have to be ba$tardised to work look chavvier than a Saturday afternoon in an adidas shop.

Many of the "mph" series are still running. I know a chap in Bournemouth who has 116 MPH on his original Austin Cooper S.

Yes but let's face it, that's marque related, not numberplate related. I've seen several 325i's with M3 numberplates, now in my book that ought to involve taking a good look at the bottom of the English channel with fashionable concrete footwear attached.

They are a non too expensive, transferable, highly visable mod..........
Why not spend £250 on a plate rather than the same amount on a set of mud flaps?
I have one and have my eye on another, could you tell
