I payed crazy money for an Egress shell last year, and when it didn't turn out quite right i nearly cried!

BTW, just done a bit of research and the RZ motor is more high rev, low torque for sprint and fast circuits. The TZ motor is high torque with slightly lower revs, for slower circuits and endurance etc
Have you got an Egress - PLEASE post some pics!

My first ever copy of Radio Race Car was November 1988 IIRC. Had the Egress on the front. God how I wanted that car.

I've wanted for the longest time to put an original Avante together - prices of them in the box is staggering. I got the 2001 but that was just a cheapo Egress.

I kept my Yoke Dog 93 for years - loved that car. The new Tamiya 4WD off-roader looks very nice. Not keen on central motor placement but looks nice all the same.

Cool

Robby, The RZ runs fine with the TEU101BK. I have two cars running this set-up with no problems yet.

Eddscott - I was lucky enough to have a couple of Egress's. The silver one was a shelfqueen, and the white one a runner. Unfortunatly i had to sell them a few months ago, along with most of my other rc cars (Avante, Hotshot, Astute, Supershot) mainly to finance my scoob. I've still kept a couple on the shelf though (rough rider, sandscorcher) And i've got a frog and a monster beetle for playing!!

OMG - I'm probably more jealous of seeing them than someone with some Uber Spec C RA etc etc Impreza (one you sit in I mean )

May I ask how much the shelfqueen Egress went for? Gutted I missed that

Would prefer a shelf Avante though.

Red face

I got around £350 for it. It wasn't my favorite though, The Avante was amazing in the flesh and i was gutted when it went. I've promised myself that i'll find another mint Avante when my finances are in a better state!

My sandscorcher is worth nearly a grand, as it is mint and has the box etc. Its hard to justify it sitting on a shelf, but i can't bring myself to sell all of my toys!!

Any suggestions on suppliers of the vintage kit (sorry to thread hijack!)

Dan

Not long finished my Manta Ray Dan Got most of the bits through eBay.

Pretty much all new parts in the end. Excuse pics, just quicksnapshots taken a moment ago . . .

Original Manta Ray totally rebuilt, ballraced, ESC and new motor fitted . . .

My Gravel Hound with load of alloy parts, Peak Vantage 13x1 motor and Nosram patriot ESC. Goes like a rocket . . .

Current project. TA03F carbon chassis and Hot Works Nismo 350z body and wheels. Will probably put the shell on a RWD chassis later though . . .

Not a nitro fan personally, I prefer the old skool chassis and electric

WOW

didn't think there would be much call for RC stuff here. I stopped racing my Associated TC3 a few years ago now but still got everything hidden away in boxes. It grips me to has £300- KO Propo transmitter in a box not getting used

Its better to have it stashed away just in case you want it rather than flogging it all on Ebay.

I got rid of all my stuff last year and I really do regret it. I got pi$$ed of with touring cars lurching from high B finals to low Cs for no real reason apart from shi11y driving. Last chassis I had was an XRay and by far a work of art with all the lovely machined parts.

I regret the most selling my 1/8 rally X. I always wanted a Kyosho Inferno so got the best thing at the time the 777 SP1 and O.S. engine. Such a nice car to drive.
