The 944 was a model - the Turbo being the top of the range model.

In fact it was faster and more expensive than 911 Carrera.......

What ever I drive I will look down on Impreza owners, It doesn't matter what I drive. I'm looking down on the driver, not the car.

I AM better than them

My answers ......

1. I am finacially better off by a country mile

2. Yes my friends still laugh at what I drive, but now it's only because it's cheap clutter. No longer can they take the mickey out of the ironing board stuck on the boot or the fact there are a family of Gypsys hidden in my exhaust.

3. No i wont be buying another one, I have grown out of them

4. You're damned right i'm glad I sold up, get more of a buzz driving my new car.

What about you?
Gary,

With all due respect you sound a lot like a scratched record, repeating the same things over and over. I'm curious as to why you keep posting here if you have such distain for subarus...its got to be over two years since you sold your sti8...

Ian

I must agree with the above, most people who slate the impreza have never driven in one or are aware of the rallying heritage. It really miffs me the shear ingorance of some people, these people are just not interested in driving.

The thread started out with a couple of decent reples. The first guy said he struggled to pay for his 02STi and was considering selling.

The next guy a long time poster said the £700 a month he was shelling out was wearing thin and he was considering making a move too.

They were both fair answers to my question ........

The thread then deteriorated when I went off line for an hour. I can't be blamed for that now can I?

lol, i'm not blaming you for anything just struggle to understand the motivation for posting about a subject to which you already know the answer; newbies defending the marque and the classic knockers (hello DavyBoy ), repeating themselves...

If people want to laugh because of your spoiler or their opinion of your car then they are quite sad, i am sure there are things they own which would make others laugh at them.
People who sell their Impreza's because of the image of them worry me, as where do you stop? Sell your house if others don't like the look, leave your wife because her hair colour is unfashionable?

I will keep my car for as long as i can afford to run it.

Yes i'd be better off financially without it, but wouldn't have as much fun driving (which i do a lot of, so having a car i like is important to me)

As you asked if I agreed .........

I didn't sell mine because of what others said. I just said they said it, not that I got shot because of it

Fair play to you for running yours while you have the cash. Mine cost me £15K in under three years excluding petrol, insurance and the finance interest. For me that was too much money.

If that makes me a poor kid or chav as some indicated then so be it

I only knock them as they proved to be next to hopeless as a track car for me.

Facts are facts.

but why ask the question in the first place if so much time has passed...I could understand it if you were trying to work out savings or seeing how either people have faired.

its almost as if you are trying to elicit a certain response...troll like behaviour almost

Fair play mate

£15k is a hell of a hit to take, half way towards an Ariel Atom

No offence here but... telling people you own a Porsche when you own a Porsche 944 is a bit like telling people you've won the lottery when you've won a fiver on a scratch card..

It's technically true, but somewhat misleading.

not misleading at all really is it probein...he does own a porsche; end of story. it might not be a shiny new GT3 RS but I'd hazard a guess and say you don't own a 22B or a Spec C RA-R do you?

Well to be fair most people know what I have (you can also view my scooby), it's just the clueless newbies who don't

A 1990 Porshce 944 Turbo cost about £40k without options.

Ive had 3 Imprezas. At the time I had them expense wasn't really an issue so I was quite happy to drive them.
Haven't had one for a couple of years now as I have a large dog that did not really fit in the wagon so I bought an estate.
Since then my driving style has def. changed due to the type of car(as it did when I started in Scoobs) so I won't buy another.
Financially better off.
Friends don't laugh at what I drive.
Cheers
