Oh come of it chris youve had yours less than a week and are already doing long term test reports!!
whats to know about them..they are dated..they handle well..they are knocked into a cocked hat by a dc5 that costs 3 grand more looks 300% better and people dont think looks like a 1992 celica!!
sorry but ive tried being civil and easing off but i cant really stand the integra because they may handle well but they are in real world speed by todays standards..slow. and someone who drove a near 300 bhp scooby with mods and a ****ing great big sti wing is now making out power didnt mean nothing lol
amazing what buying an underpowered car makes you ''find '' in other areas of the vehicle.
the way i see it Chris you didnt shut up about your scooby..i mean no less than 3 threads about whether you should sell and 2 or 3 ads on pistonheads pissing people about who may have wanted it..and now its sudenly poo pooed for your new car. bias..me thinks you are.

Well I have come from a vtec vehicle with around the same grunt as a DC2 to a classic STI-5 with 305bhp and I would go back
I don't have to find 'other' areas to mark the S2000 up - its simply a more enjoyable drivers car than the STI and 90% as quick unless and until it rains (at which point its slow but fun). Even at that though, it was hooooring down this morning and I had faff all traction in the Impreza anyway 
I think a lot of people really need to get out there and give some other cars a go because the Impreza isn't all that and a bag of potatoes. Its essentially a bog-basic saloon car that's been tarted up to go fast and grip well. In terms of meeting that brief it does really well IMHO and that's why I have one cause right now I just need something that I can have some fun in and drive quickly. But a sports car or a hot-hatch are completely different breeds of vehicle and IME Impreza owners are quick to dismiss vehicle's that fall into either of these two categories simply because they can't hit 100mph from rest in the wet in under 14 seconds. I got he same comments when I had the S2000 - and that's go another 50 bhp The power figures are deceptive - VTEC cars seem to have some form of magic pixie dust sprinkled on them!
I rememebr getting roasted at 80 mph by a 2.2 Prelude when I was in 270 bhp UK MY00. Surprised I was...
You have to mod it Chris - and I trust you have tried driving it with the airbox lid off? YOU MUST TRY IT RIGHT NOW.
When you mod them they go much faster, although its only a handful of bhp more.
I loved mine, but I just found it frustrating in the power department and a bit raw for a daily 50 mile drive. The S had enough torque to keep me happy.

I'll give it a try tomorrow.
The car doesn't really feel like it needs modding. It already has a decat and a cat-back blueflame exhaust.
Apparently the manifold is quite restrictive??

UK exhaust is the 2.25" whereas the JDM has 2.5" I think... so yeah, the UK one could be said to be restrictive Hasn't bothered me from enjoying my car for the past three years

Mods wise, the manifold is well worth changing, with the intake and a Unichip (bring the VTEC down a touch)

Sounds like a nice car, Chris. I've never driven a type R, but if I got one would have to get an ACR (kids + wife + shopping + subtlety )

Thanks for the scans and the write ups. I've been looking for a second car and the Type R is proving itself to be a real contender. I am loving white cars.
Hope to find one as standard as possible, in UK spec.

I have owned some scobbies in my time and and eVO6, I now have a DC5 which I was going to sell for a CSL, however I jsut can not bring myself to do this.
I owned a DC2 for 6 months and I can hand on heart say that the best drive of my life was in the DC2, summers night, 2am from Leamington to Derby through twisty A roads and slow-fast A38. If I had room on my drive a DC2 would be stood next to the DC5.
The driving thrill it gives is way beyond any 4wd Jap saloon can give.

my pal who has an itr said the best mod he made was removing everything interior wise from front seats back.
he bought the car as standard then fitted a spoon air filter, exedy light weight flywheel and clutch, a blueflame exhaust and decat a couple more strut braces i think a front under brace and a rear one.
i remember my 1st passenger ride in it when he got it and i wasnt impressed with the acceleration but after he made all these mods and i went out in it again it felt like a different car alot quicker but he said that was down to the weight removal.now the car oversteeers when going fast round roundabouts as the front is still planted but the rear begins to slide he thinks it brilliant cos its fwd.he removed the rear windscreen motor which the spindle comes through the rear window so he removed the motor and fitted a plastic bung.

Not yet. Changed the engine oil (silkolene pro s 5w40) and filter today for peace of mind. Also changed the front number plate for a 3/4 size one. It's the little things that count!

i personaly dont believe that k&n airfilters filter out all harmful air particles compared to a standard air filter and who can be bothered having to clean it then oil it it sounds like what people had to do in the olden days!! back at stick with the paper ones mate and change on time cant go wrong.
something i read in the supermoto bike mag was beware of fitting free flow air filters as they can let in dirty air which in turn can wear out the valve seats in the cylinder head this then leads to loss of compression due to wear of the valve and the valve seats then the valves sink deeper down into their seats reducing valve clearances......i think youd be lucky to notice a 10% power increase in a fast car anyway....so by fitting an induction kit youd gain maybe 3% if you go to this website here this explains a s**t load about the tuning industry and what and what doesnt work.
Puma Race Engines - General Engine Tuning Guide - how much power you can get from different tuning modifications
the guy seems to know his stuff and basically backs up what i thought about tuning products for cars.........the whole site is worth a good read especially the info about rolling roads and how to calculate engine power from the power at the wheels as some tuners exagerate the engine power.
i was on the honda revolutions website and people were posting up their rr results and i calculated they were losing 40% from the engine to the wheels which is total bol****s all that is is the operator exagerating the flywheel power making the person believe their car is more powerful than it really is prob after selling him 500 notes worth of an exhaust from japan.
its unbeliavable how nieve some folk are.
for example i put my standard 5gt turbo on the rollers it made 100 at the wheels which works out as 120bhp at the flywheel.
but when i looked on the honda revolutions forum it was like 100 at the wheels and 160 bhp at the flywheel do you get what i mean and the silly f***S believe it lol
another thing if i wanted to improve the teg by tuning i would want more power available lower down the rev range more mid range punch if you like so i notice some folk fit the bigger 2.5" exhaust systems to the tegs and thats only going to do the opposite to increase power right at the top and sacrificing bottom end power for a minimal gain.
just like i said best thing to do is weight removal or if your fat go on a diet lol
