TBH DeltaBravo 9 i can understand BBigmans concerns when some one who probably knows f**k all about the company in question starts hurling false statements that could potentially damage his company.

If it were me i'd be p***ed if someone started making false acusations.

anyway back on topic.

M3's and i dont care what anyone says, my (lightly) modded Classic can stay with these (acceleration anyway) but an RS6 ha ha well i tried once and it buggered off so fast it was like me hitting the brakes.

On the other hand BBigman you cannot (however you may think you can) sue everyone that says something that you dont agree with - if this were the case every business man would spend their time from court case to court case and lining the pockets of lawyers.

Really you should have PM'd Audilover instead of threatening to sue on a public forum as it brings too much attention to your business.

anyway back on topic.

Interesting debate this, My classic is a 2.2L with Hybrid VF turbo running approx 320/320 and P1 Box I can slowly squeeze past an M3 in 3rd gear but when I get into 4th we stay side by side, having just done this (private road of course) we were both equally suprised I think he thought I was going to leave him once I was along side but we stayed necka neck until we had to brake, He had a rolling headstart on me from about 30mph so i did reel him in and just about squeezed passed but i guess it was the gearing in the P1 box more than out and out power because once the advantage of the shorter gearing was lost we were very evenly matched.M3 still a great GT car though, wouldnt fancy doing a trip to Germany in the Scoob but the M3 would be an absolute joy up and down the autobahns .........................
Anyway just my humble opinion

Yup, they seem like pretty serious allegations made without the full facts (or any of any consequence). Would they have been made in person ? I think not !

I currently own a 2007 WRX and have previously owned an 03 M3 cab( had to sell for financial reasons). The WRX might feel and sound faster, but the M3 definitely is. But then you are paying £20K more for that.
A tricked up WRX will be a good match, but in standard form the M3 is the daddy.
You having a laugh mate, a bloody Lambo Murcielago or Gallardo wouldn't stand a chance against my CBR1000RR Fireblade from 0-180mph, so what chance would a M3 CSL!!

Just visit this link, they have the Suzuki GSXR1000 on it which is basically the same spec as a Fireblade, compare it against an M3 CSL and see it get destroyed, everything on there will get destroyed bar the Bugatti Veyron.

Thumbs up

Tony, on a dyno my Spec C lost 19% ... your estimate below is fairly accurate then!!

There are some factors to consider though, gearboxes and diffs "can" increase losses, so any manufacturer who wants the car to put 75% of its power down on the road rather than 80% can do that, but in most cases, especially with DCCD cars, your losses will be less.

heh heh, I pay a reasonable rate bud, I keep the amount of staff high, but the hours they work low, which brings the emp NI con to a minimum.

The biggest expense in my line aside from wages is Insurance, we provide security teams to 30 Nightclubs, its a high risk for insurers.

Dont get me wrong i'm not slating M3's in fact they're a great car, when i went up against one it was upto just over three figures, i suspect above this i would admit i would have had my *** handed to me, and as BBigman says its not just about outright speed.

Some of our club had a trip to the ring a few months ago and i was speaking to one of the lads who is a very, very, quick driver and he said the quickest cars out there were GT3 Porkers and yep M3 CSL's

No one will ever take you seriously driving a subaru, they just dont have the image, If I turned up at clients premises in a impreza they would laugh at me.
They might laugh, but get them in the passenger seat and i'm sure they'd change their minds about Subaru's. Whereas if you turned up in an M3 i'm sure they'd ask to see your passport or if you had any bud, as M3's are mainly driven by immigrants/drug dealers or both. The majority of the general public would say the BM has less status, as Bm's are usually driven by idiots without a concern for anyone else on the road, they are 2 a penny, sound awful, are overweight and bought purely because they are a BMW.

Wasn' there a link to a video on a thread a while back showing an M3 against a STI (V8) on a track. Not sure if STI was modded but it had the edge over the M3.
