£43.50 Full TV including the channels you lost, Sky+ functionality free with two or more premium channels (You will have to buy a Sky+box £99)
£10 for sky Multiroom (2nd box free)
£11 BT line rental
£5 Skytalk Unlimited for free landline calls
£10 for upto 16meg Broadband.
That's less than £80 a month, I would ring Virgin back and threaten to cancel unless they beat the Sky deal.
Cheers

Mr Hat - What you got was the VIP deal.
Very Impressive Packages (VIPs)
I tried to get that for less but no go...
For another £10 you get a Virgin mobile monthly contract with 300text/300 mins which isnt bad.
I just sat on hold and they offered:
£20 for 2mbBB/telephone and talk unlimited (24/7 free local and national calls)
OR
£52.50 (was 64.51) for the movies and sports
OR
£57 (was 78) for movies/sports/talk unlimited
So for 7.50 less a month I get all calls (expect mobile) free.
Not a bad result
Can add V+ for £10 and keep old box for £5 a month...
I have to say the lady I spoke was very pleasant and helpful, surprising really as I'm sure they have a gut full of moaning old whingers like me trying to get a deal.

Finally got through on saturday after holding for 40 mins and got £4.50 a month off for life. I know it's not loads, but I'm only on the basic phone and tv package for £25 a month, so quite pleased with a 20% discount. They offered me free broadband as well, but I don't have a decent PC at home yet, so requested that they keep that free offer on my record as I'll take them up on it in the coming months.

Why do you care -just use on demand for any movie you want at any time. Probably works out more cost effective in the long run anyway.
Sky are w@nkers though - if its available to me I'll always go cable on account of their behaviour in the last few months. I refuse to be bullied.

This is what Sky and Rupert Murdock want - they want to bully any opposition into submission so then with all the competition i.e. NTL/Virgin out of the equasion they can (and will) hike their prices back up.
Murdock is like that bloody Carver character out of that James Bond film
Wants total dominance

SKY is great! All you idiots with NTL (virgin) should of looked into the deals when you bought it.
Its never been cheaper or better......
Sky is the only way.
The broadband works fine as it's BT and it's only a fiver a month....

I'd happily pit my set up against any sky set up for overall quality, value for money and most importantly flexibility! There is so much the V-box thingy can do and with one phone call virgin knocked £20 a month of my price and pumped up my broadband - it'll be 20meg by July!!!

Small tip, the operator doesn't care if you leave, once your off the phone they can forget about you. The more you rant and complain the less they are willing to help.
Phone them up and politely explain what you think the issue is and what you would like, NOT what you expect.
Remember they don't get paid more for you being happy, if you treat them well after all the **** heads screaming at them, I promise you, you will get a lot more from them.
I work for Virign and am more than happy to give out a months free service, thats TV, phone and internet to someone with connection problems if they are nice to me. When there not, I take the number of days without service and work out to the pence how much we owe them.
Its down the the person you speak to what you get.... be nice ... get more !
Offically, offically we make the decisions, legally we dont have to credit for the loss of Sky, we only have to give you back credit after 24 hours and we only have to credit you as much as you pay.
I.e £31 a month service, complete loss of service for a week .,.. £7 assuming 31 days in the month. Now if you polite and explain that its been terrible without service, the kids are annoying, you've missed this, missed that, we have the option to give good will credits and we want to !! Theres nothing nicer than a customer thanking you at the end of a call and going away happy.
The business maybe a bit poo, but 9/10 of the people are good and helpful.

Pimmo what you just wrote applies to all walks of life! I always start of being polite and reasonable when I'm making a complaint and it nearly always works. As soon as you get angry people dig in and prepare for a battle.

Some good deals to be had at the moment but if NTL/Vorgin go t1ts up, i promise you Sky will hike its prices to ridiculous levels if there level of competition is nil, due to their over aggressive way of doing business.
Competition is and has always been good for the consumer, no competition and get shafted simple as.
