So, rent it out for a few weeks and it pays for itself, I think I have spotted the flaw in this cunning plan....

Not many drivers have the talent, brains and restraint to drive one of those on the road, plus it being a rental car, you only have it fpr 24 hours and you have paid 20k, you are going to get your moneys worth !

I heard he'd had 12 pints of Stella and was reading the paper, smoking a spliff and eating a Ginsters too.

Originally the plod said they knew nothing of the accident and the driver arranged to have the car recovered himself.

Surely he can also be charged with leaving the scene of an accident...

...except if an ambulance took the woman to hospital surely the plod must have known

It is such a horrible car why would someone pay 20p a day to drive it - yeeuw!

That's not the fix price, that's the original price. Although the owner paid over the odds at £925,000....

Yeah read this in the sun today, it wasnt fatal at all, everyone was fine and the 7 month pregnent woman was checked out and given the all clear.

He paid £925k for it to get it, and then rented it out at £20k a day, obviously it never did pay itself off.

It will be very costly to repair because the parts are made to order, they are not just a trip to halfrauds and get a fan belt lol

As Bugatti, and therefore Volkswagen, are making such a loss, it has been likened by automotive journalist Jeremy Clarkson to Concorde, in that both were test-beds for advancements in technology and developed as exercises in engineering rather than profit.

you only have one passenger seat in the bugatti you muppet, read the story again and you will see the pregnant woman was in the astra van that he hit, and luckily she and baby were unharmed.

I wasn't criticising the car and its engineering and its vast capabilities, or even the driver since we don't know how the accident happened.

My point was, how could you possibly use its performance to anything much more than a fraction of it capabilities on our public roads either in safety or anywhere near legally. Therefore I reckoned it was a dreadful waste of money.

turns out it wasnt rented. It belongs to a wealthy Indian who had lent it to his younger brother. Hope they throw the book at him as there is no way it wasnt his fault.

Agree Les
Amazing engineering. (someone mentioned it was all about developing new technology and probably good PR value at the same time)
But all quite pointless from a driving perspective - Top Gear had to go to that place in Germany to drive it properly.

I mean when you take something down an airfield at 160mph - everything is a blur the angle of your forward vision is small. I hate to think what 250mph is like - you must lose all touch with reality.

I had to laugh when i read that apparently the brothers father went down to the crash site, and gave his sons a right earful....shouting and screaming that he couldn't believe it had been wrecked....

he then drove off and left the two to walk home in the rain...

The driver is being investigated for driving without due care and attention - apparently there are reports he was doing in excess of 100mph prior the accident - deserves to have the book thrown at him..
