I think its fare to say that we all know that a standard Ferrari on a track will beat a standard Impreza, but most are not standard and its not rediculous that a modified Sti can beat a Ferrari off the lights. The other thing is that the difference between 60 in 4.2secs and 60 in 4.8secs is nothing more than a bumpers distance over a few hundred yards so it is even more realistic to believe it can be done!

Good on you mate, I had a play a couple of weeks back with a Buggati Veyron near Oulton Park. I know i didn't stand a chance, just hoping i'd bug him enough to floor it. And it worked. Boy, do them things move.

I got dusted by a new M5 recently. Not by any where near as much as i thought it would be though. The price difference does not reflect the enjoyment difference!

At the end of the day though, what would you prefer to own, some Jap/German scrap or some Italian loveliness......
Ferrari all the way
All these supercar beating stories are all below the speeds at which the supercars get to flex their muscles - woooh
Nice story though

Well i was one of the others who was there in my Classic running about 260 (ish) yeah ok he pulled away from me but not by much, and i can confirm Supertouring matched him quite easily on acceleration - and yes trust me he was trying. obviously maybe he would have had an advantage if speeds woudl have got silly - but they didn't.
Like Super says - fair play to him, flash of lights and a friendly wave, just a bit of fun without going too silly. top man

People seem to think that a ferrari badge means unbeatable, but its not like that. You pay a premium for a supercar, your paying for a dream as much as the power. A Prada handbag wont hold anymore than one from Asda but its 10 times the cost and this doesnt make it a better bag does it?
Of course Ferrari's and Lambos can be beaten by Evos and scoobs (with just some small mods not 100k) because power wise there isnt a whole lot of difference!

These threads are funny. My WRX wouldn't get near a 360 i bet, but considering he paid 50x the amount for his motor i'd be happy just to show that the scoob isn't a walk over.
If i paid £150k for a car i'd want it to absolutely devastate any piece of **** that cost £3k, having some scoob owner even coming close to me would be my worst nigtmare.
I remember having a little fun with a 911 turbo, showing off to his young blonde passenger. When he got the chance to overtake he really gave it some and i think he was shocked that although obviously he past me it wasn't like a bolt of lightning. So his reaction was to stick his fingers up at me lol.
Its a complement that a £3k car can even come close to these supercars.
