I got flashed by some bloke doing 45 on the a15 from lincoln one day. But gathered that I had not done anything wrong, as the police car I bounced in the same manouver didn`t pull out and give chase. But then I did everything properly indicated, pulled out, nailed it, then pulled in far enough clear and braked back down to speed limit. I think a lot fo it has to do with surprise, these people have got the blinkers on, they are not checking their mirrors as often as they should be, then out of nowhere there is a car along side doing 70 on the brakes, indicating to get into the inadequate space they have left in front of them

Remember you got some people who just drive slow because they want to. Like trolls who flame the forums, at any oppertunity they will spam their drivel.

Same with these kinds of drivers.. who probably cause half the tailbacks up and down the country no doubt. Probably doesn't help having a flashing car but what ticks me off is when you do overtake them in a perfectly safe manner they decide to accelerate again forcing you to disband your overtaking... childish.

I like the idea of driving back and flashing the car, I would probably drive back, then turn around and re-overtake again to annoy whoever is in the car.

Evening All,

Mightily pleased to read all the replies to the thread. So reassured "it's not just me".

Also the other things I'd forgot about, like bunching together ( no intention of overtaking) & won't let anyone in who wants to progress.

Interesting point made, the sheep see overtaking as qeue jumping! ( sheep my words)

The other point I think is, Joe Public now beleives that he shouldn't go any faster than 40 mph ( cameras have contributed to this) and, will probably let Road Pricing/Big Brother Stuff happen however, wouldn't it be brilliant if we all stuck together and enjoyed driving cars as fun loving individuals, instead of the Sheep the Authorities have created?

Thanks to all who put in their point of view.

Just to add to the list of annoying habits people have....when you overtake someone, why do people flash when coming towards you when they are so far away that you have no way impacted their speed, etc?? These people always get the one finger salute!
Had exactly this myself last week. Overtook on a good straight, 60 limit, car I overtook was going 35.... Checked mirror, checked ahead - car coming but loads of room, dropped a gear, indicated, pulled out, passed, indicated, pulled in - ONLY AT THIS POINT does the guy coming the other way feel the need to put his headlights on full beam (i.e. after I have pulled back in). Now you may be thinking to yourself that maybe it was a tight spot, so to give you an idea how much room there was, here's what happend next... Thought - full beam - thats odd, thought shall I pull back out and play chicken? Thought no, that's childish and a bit dangerous, thought, I know, maybe he's off scoobynet and is just being friendly (ironic), gave him a half second flash (of my lights!!!) but he didn't respond, thought maybe he didn't notice, gave him another half second flash of my lights, still no response so tried again - another half second flash, still no response (he is still on full beam at this point) so gave him a final flash at which point he came past.

Now if you have read all this through you will have experienced this at approximately real time (and you have too much time on your hands and should get out more) so I reckon I had about a spare 600 yards.... Aparrently this is too close for some, and I feel pity for them...
