Good topic, as I have often pondered over this myself. I use my car (MY04 STi8 with TSL 333 (330bhp)) as a daily drive. My job requires me to drive all over Scotland for time to time. I am provided with a fuel card and car allowance for the pleasure. To be honest, I have thought that this is frivelous, however I get to drive fantastic roads that I would othrwise probably not use and I of course use the Subaru. I used to have a 205 GTI which I used for trackdays, however an extra car is a hassle and is itself expensive. My insurance is about £700 -£900 - cannot remember!!!
At the end of the day, I o consider gtting a company car instead of the car allowance however I wouldmiss the Scoob. The Scoob as a weekend car would be too extravagant - I would get something old school such as a good RS Turbo!!!

I recently took mine off the road to save the insurance/fuel/tyres/tax cost that massivley outweighed the cost of my £1500 trailer.
It has also allowed me to make my car a fore focused hillclimb weapon as no pot holes/manholes or long spine brakign journeys to worry about.
You guys might find this thread interesting that I am trying to get started for people who compete in their cars track them or just like reallly fast scoobs.

I've thought of doing the same thing, but I'm still trying to weigh my options. Wish me luck! Any tip you'd love to add?

Scoob is week-end/track toy - 95 WRX RA
I do way too many miles a year to have one as a daily driver, 40/45k, so got a nice comfy diesel Volvo to do that in. Added bonus is that it can pull the scoob on a trailer
Insurance is £350 f/comp. Don't think thats a limited mileage but I've only done 2000 or less since I've had it. I am over 40 though.
At the end of the day, I want to drive a scoob on track

Mine is a quarterly year toy, comes out about 6 times a year and not used it since last october due to the fact that its a pain to get it out with too many cars in the way, done 200 miles in it over the past year, bought it new when my son was born and he,s now 7 and will keep it for him when he can drive as not worth selling and will probably only have another 2 or 3 tho on it by then.
