I like the simplicity of my UK set up (didnt get the GX Sport thank god, got a lovely low mileage Turbo2000 MY99). The car is not as good as an STi but I dont want the temptation to fiddle with something that alters the behaviour so much.
I think thats called "driver error" rather than anything else
Like anything, if you dont read the instructions then something goes wrong, whos fault is it? and if your not sure, leave it on auto.
Ive also not know one dealer to "disable" this, pretty hard to do so really without upsetting the cars balance on an A-DCCD car, sensors n all.
Also to really get a "feel" to what the DCCD does, you need open spaces where you can practice and see how the car behaves on each setting, most just go for the 2nd green, some fiddle more than others, but the option is there to go from manual to auto on the new age cars, harder on the classics but if you dont know what your buying in the first place.....

i've messed around with the settings on only a few occasions with mine, have wound the dial back fully (think this is open?) to play in the snow and had a bit of a mess around on a big wet roundabout

doesn't do alot for me TBH and if you turn off of auto then the yaw sensor isn't working which seems a waste of time to me!

i can understand that a non A-DCCD driver could find it hard to get the car right for them, i wouldn't have a clue!!
