Picked her up today after the final map on V power + octane booster mapped by Dave Rowe.
The car is unbelievable, amazing!!!
Can't quite believe what Matt Clarke has created here. Its more of a monster than I thought and goes way beyond my expectations.
On the way home I had a play with my Dad's WRX running at around 260bhp. I thought he was braking as I shot past him but he said he was flat out. I can't believe a car can accelerate this quick, it really takes your breath away!
Still havn't taken her past 6000rpm and only blipped her in 3rd-5th gears. Don't have the bottle to open her up in 1st and 2nd yet.
I can't imagine what it would be like with race fuel and launch control, but that will have to wait a while until I have got used to what I have now.
Can't stop smiling
RCMS have really come up with the goods.
If anyone is going, the car will be on the SIDC stand at Santa Pod tomorrow (sunday). Come over and say hi. I will be by Chris Butlers car and friends.

Congrats mate, sounds like winner for sure! You mention needing the bottle for first and 2nd. gear. When are you seeing good grunt in the first and 2nd gears? Are they even useable at all? Also what compression ratio did you end up with?
hope to see some vids

Should be a good summer then!
Some final pics and details would be a nice 'summary'
Some idea of the characteristics of delivery would be good too!
you don't think we will all forget this one do you?

Hi Graham,
I am in the process of sorting out the full spec on the build and when it is done I will post it up on this thread.
I will take some more pics of the car to include some close up shots of the engine bay, but I am waiting until the sun comes out so it will probobly be at the weekend!
I am also planning some video, I will try and include some in car footage as well as outside the car.
As for the way the power delivery comes in, all hell breaks loose at 4000 rpm all the way to 8000 rpm and what also amazes me is how smooth it is all the way up the rev range.
Marty

if the car was going to be for road use only do you think you would still go down the 2 litre route
mines going in to RCM soon but im still leaning towards a 2.5... your post makes me question my ideas
reading your posts make me really excited about mine

What does "road use" mean? Like daily driver or track car?
The GT30R is a great turbo on the 2.0. Makes big power, very acceptable, throttle response. I'm sure the 79mm crank really helps with getting the power on at 4k or before but reaching full boost by 4k to 4500 is not unlikely. Would be great on track days.
I think if you were looking for a daily driver with the occasional track day the 2.5 might be more fun since you can run a bigger turbo and not worry about lagging throttle response.
Having driven the 2.5litre's and owning two 2 litre impreza's I prefer the attitude of the 2.0's. Comes down to how you drive i guess. You can make a lot of power in the lower lower mid RPM band or you can make the same power in the upper register of the RPM band. It's all preference really.
cheers

Hi Rich, the car is perfect for road use,put it this way ,my father has a 05 wrx ppp,i had a play with him and to give him a chance i did not rev it over 4,000 rpm ,and i still had the edge over him .
I have no more lag than what i had before when i was running rcm gt35 p18 at 1.45 bar (350bhp).
As you know the engine is 2.1 this allowed me to use the .82 exhaust housing with not much lag.
I am glad i went for the 2.1 rather than 2.5
It revs a lot faster and higher
I have full boost 1.9bar at 4,300rpm
cheers

HOLY CRAP IF THATS NOT THE WHOLE HOG!
Damn GT30 with the .82 hotside. So with the smaller hotside you'd be getting full spool before 4krpms. Thats nuts. Fantastic build mate!
cheers

Never mind about the performance, to those that have not seen the car, it is a total minter and a credit to Martin's dedication (and wallet) and RCM's prep.
