The Decat boys are greener than us cat boys anyway, their cars don`t kick out as much CO2 just a whole bunch of other chemicals harmful to humans. But a catted car converts all this to CO2 and the water vapour.
Taken from wiki: Water vapor is a naturally occurring greenhouse gas and accounts for the largest percentage of the greenhouse effect.
Sounds like a bit of scaremongering to me.

DID anyone watch the Great Global Warming Scandal?
Apparently all this stuff about carbon emmissions/global warming is *********!!
It's to do with Solar Movements & Tides.
These Professors tracked all this stuff over the last 150 years and proved that. when the Sun was in a particular cycle linked to tide movement, Gravity & Stuff, that things went out of synch.
The green stuff really is a Tax ploy. I am not particularly bright, I am not A Professor, however, I do have a sore bottie from being screwed by these Politicains trying to get the last drop out of me as a petrol head.
How much longer are we putting up with this??
Remember when they pushed us too far & the Petrol Protests started??
Well Goverment person who is watching this post, you might just have gone too far.
Don't even think about this Road Pricing Big Brother stuff.
I am well and truly wee weed off.
And I might just do something about it rather than rant, on here.
Start some sort of movement.
Any one with me????
Mr Angry from Worcs.

Go in to any Dr's surgery where there is an Asian community and it happens all the time.
My ex worked in a Dr's in Ashton Under Lyne and both her self and the Dr knew what was happening when the veiled women came in with there chaperon who would just tell the Dr her symptoms due to he cant touch her.
The Dr even said what was happening but was helpless due to he had to take there word.
Yep yours and mine taxes walking out the door.

...I did heard on the radio that they would be putting up the cost of 4* 4 ownership on road tax. but as you say my small sportscar falls into the same bracket and thus will cost me tons even though it is smaller than a mondeo
...
You need to get range rover, land rover, X3's, X5's lexus , Rav4's, toerags, cayannes and the like and not penalise the fiat panda, audi, scoobies etc of the world

If your 'little' sportscar gives off more CO2 per mile than a 7 seat offroader then under the manmade climate change dogma why would you not expect to pay more to keep it on the road???
4x4 is just a term top make joe public think it is against very well off 'chelsea tractor' drivers on the school run! - In actual fact many families use these vehicles due to thei 'immense'

My Scoob gets 28 mpg on the motorway... a Land Rover Discovery 3 TdV6 will do 34.9 mpg on the motorway - why should the driver be penalised for being eco-unfriendly

Just to be clear.
Cars registered before March 2001
<1549CC = £110 >1550cc = £170
Cars after March 2001 are banded during type approval from A>F
Cars Registered after March 2006 with a rating of 225g Co2 or higher went into Band G. This is the band targeted by Sphincter sorry brown,
Anyone with a 2.5Wrx or STI newer than March 2006 will be in this "SuperBand". All scoobies registered before this will NOT be in G but F or below. the tax will go up but not by much.
Word is Band G will be £400 next budget so epect a figure between this for Band G this time round.

Petrol car TC48
Cars registered on or after 1 March 2001 based on CO2 emissions and fuel type.
Please note: These rates apply only to cars that have been type approved within category M1 of Annex II to Council Directive 70/156/EEC and which have been registered on the basis of a type approval certificate that shows its carbon dioxide emissions level in terms of grams per kilometre driven.

Land Rover Discovery series II is shorter and narrower than a rover75 !
many discoveries have 7 seats - you can get your own kids and a couple of friends (or grandparents) in the car. you can get a wheelie bin standing upright in the back with seats for 5 people still available. You can get a Range size oven in the back with the seats folded down. You can get full size plasterboard sheets on the roof bars.
A new Discovery3 TdV6 has lower emissions than a Subaru WrX STi...
see https://www.scoobynet.com/non-scooby...ml#post6762953
and above all they are fun to drive, getting off the kerb is an adventure, you can seek out (the few remaining
) greenlanes, off-roading sites are great for a day out with the kids - you won't believe what these things can do... - awesome
So your point was...
Think before you pass judgement!

You are all just plain GREEDY ...... you think nothing of spending £700 for a re-map, yet cry when the Government asks you to fund some life saving NHS treatment!!![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)
You should all hang your big greedy heads in shame!!

To confirm for those in doubt...
Those of you whose cars are registered between 1st March 2001 and 22nd March 2006 and whose carbon emissions are 225g/km + will be paying band F i.e currently £190.
those of you who are big boys
and have bought a new scoob 23rd March 2006 + are or will for want of a better word get **rewed, as that fat scotsman will get you to fund his spending...this is band G and is the one they want to hammer into the ground as it is the X5 chayenned etc perceived band. Even tho of course many X5s etc like scoobs are pre 23rd March 2006. Argument goes tho you knew more about c02 etc and climate on the 23rd march than on the 22nd march ;-)
so in summary any scoobs before 1st march 2001 bothered they are not based on emissions so the price of 2nd hand classics gets an up! For the bug and blob majority happy days band F is not going anywhere soon so the last modern scoob which wont be taxed to high heaven...for anyone buying one now god help you and you have my sympathy.

The problem as far as CO2 emissions goes is not the size of the vehicle - or whether it has off-road capability
The problem with emissions is how much CO2 is given off per mile driven!

practicality - you can buy one for the price of a Mondeo - of any age.

All this is moot as there is no way to track how much carbon a car dumps in a year anyway. As of course if you believe the govt spiel about carbon, which I most certainly dont.

According to this BBC NEWS | Business | The new car tax bands Band G starts at 225 g/km. I have just renewed my RFL at £190, so does that make it a Band F? I could have sworn it was in the top bracket....

Newly registered ones will be band G
Along with all new WRXs.
So, you'll be hoping that all new Subarus are screwed with high road tax.
Thats nice of you.

If 2.0 to 2.5 have moved from F into G then this is clearly not the case. Why have they introduced the 2.5 engine?

We need to trade increased personal prosperity for a fairer society.
So, cough up some of your wealth that New Labour has allowed you to amass for the benefit of those less well off ..... as I said above, anyone who pays £700 for a re-map really has too much money on their hands!!
£700 would keep a teenage mothers 4 children in **** and booze for a week!!
Joking aside ..... a re-map is actually WORSE value for money!!
