Just go somewhere else mate, your just a pratt.

i think you know what i mean, stop picking at people just no need really is there?!?!?! I hate PC warriors like you.

My point is that the government should be honest and just say we need more cash due to shortfalls here and there, because past governments havent done the sums right!

May be i should join them, but i own a company so have some other things to sort out.

The point your trying to make out of nothing is my statement that they (MP's) are overpaid, taking numerous perks along the way, why an MP's wife should get free rail travel is beyond me!

Pete, i think we all know on SN that your just a waste of time, you seem as though your a bright chap, why not use your mind to be constructive rather than act like a PC warrior and attempt to wind people up. May be the stereotypical view i have of you is way off base, but bit man behind pc springs to mind!

Anyway i plan to save my time and money by not reading your posts anymore, lifes just too short!

There is a rumour going round that my car was registered with a 1.2 litre engine, which means that I only pay £110 a year for my car tax.

Sweeeeeeet

Latest from the BBC

Road tax on highest-polluting vehicles up to £400 from April next year.

Guess this means band H and not G

I didn't know there was a Band H?

I thought Band G was the highest?

See below:

Correct.

G is the highest, and it is this band that is increasing the most, but not until 1 Oct 07. So time to renew in september.

There's all this increase, but does anyone know what the increase is for pre-2001?

Seems stoopid to me. Think about it, a V8 5litre engine from 1990 will pollute a hell of a lot more than one from 2007, yet it'll be cheaper to tax the older one.

Trying to influence future thinking is one thing, hitting the existing Band G cars is another. This means that there is just one year's worth of cars where they miss the earlier lower rates, yet the owner never had the chance to decide whether they wanted to buy a car with that tax rate.

Future owners are free to decide whether they want to buy a Band G car. Earlier owners aren't hit by this change.

Just 2006/2007 owners get hit whether they like it or not. But then TAX is not generally fair

You will have a bigger carbon footprint buying a new car than running about in an old gas guzzler. I would say that the manufacturing processes involved in a new car will far outweigh the extra emmissions from an old car.

I shall be selling one very shortly - Classic WRX - even better as, being a JDM, it does not have a CO2 rating.
