If we all changed to LPG the government would put the price up and we would be back to square one.

Lets all take off the cats and get our moneys worth

Global warming is still a theory. It has not been proven conclusively as yet.
But the Government sent out a memo stating that GW was to be taken as “The Truth, The Whole True and Nothing But the Truth”.
Does this mean that in say 10 years time when GW is proven not be caused by man that we can all get refunds of the Green Taxes we were forced to pay?
Remember scientists do not know everything and to treat them as if they do is dangerous.
Remember in the 90s we were all going to die from skin cancer if we spent more than 10 mins in sun due to the depletion of the Ozone layer, according to the scientists. That particular argument has gone very quiet. Why? The hole has repaired itself.
Remember all the scientists who are striving to prove that GW is true are getting very large research grants from various governments and universities.
If they rock the boat the money dries up.
If their facts do not fit the government’s agenda, they get sidelined or not published. See report withheld on Speed cameras as findings did not fit government strategy.
I know that govs continually lie to the people I have seen it for 28 yrs working for the s@ds.

Everyone is going to get shafted. Man made climate change due to Co2 emissions is just one big lie exploited by governments to raise revenue and curtail people's freedoms.

It's ironic that the dirtiest engines of all - those of classic vehicles - are exempt from paying any road tax at all.

And why is this because the old money in the coutry (ie ruling class) own classic cars eg Rolls, Bently & Aston. Oops or is that just Charles? Very green of him that.
Perhaps they want to go back to the dawn of motoring when the only people to drive were the meag rich landowners and the working man walked.

Very good idea.......

So shall we try and organise a mass convoy down to London in protest?
Actions speak louder than words..... especially with all cats removed

Should i set up a poll thread to get some interest on a rolling road convoy? Im sure there are some tanker drivers & farmer that can advice us on how to go about doing it in the correct way?

I think we'd need French tanker drivers and farmers for it to work...

Perhaps you mean a hypothesis? A theory is the explanation for something that has been tested repeatably and shown to give the same results, it's about as close to a certainty as it gets!

The figure of £400 per year has been banded about - what they'll probably do is increase the top band to a lower figure (£300 for example) so it's better than people had expected. They're then more likely to accept it......

And the damage done to the environment to extract the materials used in the production of catalytic converters is?

Same as an electic car. How the hell is one of those environmentally friendly?

A hypothesis is a testable statement. A theory is something that can be refuted at any point in time provided the evidence is there to back it up. Freud proposed a very comprehensive theory that is extremely difficult to test and is in no uncertain terms as close to certainty as it gets!!

Just a thought

Indeed and it would seem that "man is causing global warming" is a testable statement which is not producing consistent results at the moment. Yes a theory can be changed at any time if the evidence arises, but it doesn't happen often "the theory of relativity" still holds today so I wouldn't say "it's just a theory"

For sure, I can see a lot of people not bothering with Tax. If everyone bought Road Tax they could get away with Charging £50 each. The amount of money lost because of people not paying is massive!
