Youll be supprised how much time and deveopment goes into designing interiors for crash protection to occupants. In the industry the dash board is actually called the crash pad. All the trim in you car is designed to factor in occupant safety..
As a closures/interior engineer, i can only agree with how much work is done to protect the occupant during all types of crash scenarios.
i think many don't realise how much the car will deform when hit especial on side impact and how many cars are designed to push you out of the way, rather than restrict the intrusion of the impact. but when your sat in your car, how many if you would think there's room to be shoved 8"+ into the center of the car!!!!
will look good frayz - are you going to get it sound proofed aswell as the carbon will be very boomy on the inside of the cabin and as a result very tiring on long journeys to the ring etc

Nah.. defeats the object if i start adding soundproofing.
When we drove to the ring last August we had no rear seats or firewall cover at all, and had no stereo and it was okay. So im not really worried about it mate.

Well as most of you know i took the plunge and got myself some carbon panels to replace the rear interior of the car since removing the rear seats etc.
These are full carbon panels that are genuine items for the WRC cars. Subsequently they are a pig to fit if you want them to look even remotely nice.
Im waiting for some edging to trim the edges with and also some lightweight hardware in order to bolt it all in with. So please excuse my crap pics and note that none of this is fitted properly its all just taped into position etc.
Also a pic of my new TRS magnum ultralite harness's.
The carbon was kinda finished today chaps, ive got a few bits that i'll sort out when i come back from teh ring that im not 100% happy with but on the whole im pretty pleased how it looks.
